Likely to have a circuit breaker every 3-4 months? Sure or not? Don’t think our economy can sustain that.

high chance that govt will extend CB, if the infected numbers do not drop. But can hospital cope with more patients?
Not sure after 4th May, whether govt will extend CB or not but the govt has announced they going to further tighten CB measures along the way. Maybe Bubble Tea and 美珍香 (which I consider non-essential) to close except supermarkets. I still think supermarkets are overcrowded! Hope something can be done in this aspect. But I seriously doubt the scenario of CB every 3-4 months will come true.

The frontline workers are all v tired but we must give credit to MOH that our hospital system is still holding well. Majority of the FWs are reported to have v mild or no symptoms! If today’s outbreak is in all the old folks home, then that is worrying.

For the FWs clusters, as long as isolation works are done properly, they are unlikely to spread to us. Just that the figures will continue to grow and it’s kind of ugly. For the community infection, as long as we all guai guai “stay at home”, we will definitely see a drop a cases as we have seen this method work in many countries. So I am not against hefty fines on those who flout CB rules.
After all, we are a FINE city. 😄

for this time round, the focus group(s) would be the FW from dorms and pray no cases from maids? during this CB period the peak could more or less be gauged or not?

We have to hope that not all the cases will be serious and take up hospital beds for extended periods.

As for the circuit breaker, if necessary, I guess we can all cope with an extension this time. And having periodic circuit breaker periods sounds like a good idea. Better than being in lockdown for months on end. And every time it happens we should be more prepared for it. The economy will suffer, of course, but keeping people healthy and alive is still more important.
looking at China, probably need periodic CB to manage periodic surge in cases till vaccinefound .. and from the write up..to allow healthcare system to recuperate..

I don't mind extended CB if there is still many unlinked cases dunno gotten from where.. better get it it ckeaner if not cleaned up.. if towards end of CB period can pinpoint almost all from dorms or any other places..then hopefully life could resume as normal.. watched a carton clip recently, announcement to extend and extend the lockdown period till the last one says no need go to work as co has gone bankrupt.

Until community cases goes down to single digit or low double digit, better to extend CB. If die die must end the CB so that businesses can survive, school should remain closed.

A silly question - what is the correct way of wearing a surgical mask? Noted that the ear hook can be sewn on either the coloured or white side. Some said coloured side outwards while some advised follow the side the ear hook is sewn on against the face.

yes agree not all can WFH, but those could than got chance..

how is everyone coping so far? I started taking it easier..kids told me today they enjoying HBL, dd2 says no morning rush and so much lesser of writing 😓 guess when school reopen, all needs to get used to new routine again.

                      sibor going down...
DS is getting used to HBL routine by now. There is a basic general routine, ie. Every morning login to the main platform SLS. Then do whatever online work is assigned to them there. Then do whatever offline work assigned to them thru Parents Gateway app (which I have to print out).

Every day, different things assigned for different subjects, including the miscellaneous subjects FTGP, Art, Music, PE.

Some teachers want Zoom or Google Meet sessions once a week just to have “live” lesson & check everybody’s ok. We get random calls from teachers asking parent & child whether everything ok also.

I think we have gotten used to the never-ending to-do list from school & tutors. But I must say, there is a very big difference in my attention to help my kid with I.T. issues (Eg upload/email a file to whichever teacher) when I am in SAHM mode (on my designated weekdays off) compared to when I am in WFH mode. I think those FT WFH parents must be going crazy, especially if their industry is still going at full speed instead of slowing down during this period.

DS still looking forward to real interaction when school reopens of course.
