Since you are going to boil the veggies, can consider stocking up on frozen broccoli, frozen corn kernels. Cold storage may even have frozen cubed avocado, frozen mango chunks, frozen strawberries/blueberries/raspberries.

I know they definitely have frozen baby spinach (freezed as cubes).

Yes yes , I got frozen mixed veg for all of us , v useful .
          Broccoli fresh nicer lei
Hard tried to freeze avocado , not nice too
Now we stick to apple oranges one week supply.
Also challenge is limited fridge space as
Frozen stuff are chunky in freezer compartment

Now that Singaporeans have nowhere to go, will all head to supermarkets to kill time?
The NTUC at TPY was very crowded this morning and I saw at least 20 customers (mostly students) crowding around Bubble Tea shop!!

I walked pass 美珍香, staff still roasting Bak kwa, 🤷 I am very worried whether our Circuit Breaker will work out as well as hoped.

We are taking things too lightly and need constant reminders to stay home to minimise movements and mingling.
Quoting a post I made on 07April, first day of CB.
Sometimes I wonder why the decision to close these “non-essential” stuff need to take 2 weeks. And also factories that manufacture potato chips, chocolate and ice-cream! How are these deemed services during CB?

I wonder who are the those few that caught the virus during the last 14 days of CB. Suddenly these “essential services” have to shut down. If earlier we have tightened things, do we still need to extend CB by 1 more month?! :frustrated:

We may be juggling with too many conflicting objectives, want to continue with our economic activities, want to reduce the number of community infections and so all the measures are incremental and half-baked which result in prolonged pain and further economic losses.

Any one knows the total number of cases from Dorm n FW residing outside ?

Now is 10isk K cases for all
But I would like to know how many are the local N local cluster Transmission
Hope Moh can release such data
Every so sad to see our 5 figures count .

Good that they close Carpark in parks , so funny suddenly people “like “ exercise for a motive to meet fren / bf/gf
if want to exercise , must prepare to run far else stay in your area . Running on the road ( pedestrian path ) is safer , not crowded like in parks

I am upset by PM Lee’s statement today. He said we will need to extend CB till 1st June as the number of unliked cases has not come down, which suggested a “hidden reservoir” of cases in the community. I find that statement poorly justified. Thought MOH themselves admitted last week that it was getting harder to track as the number of new confirmed cases grows. If laypersons like us can sense that the contact tracing is SLOW / INEFFICIENT, leading to a snowball, then the conclusion that “a reservoir” of hidden cases exists is unfounded.

TraceTogether has severe limitations. Why GovTech doesn’t assist MOH? Because the job is not sexy? If TraceTogether can work, will MOH make their earlier statement or not. Obviously, both are not talking to each other.

Cell Broadcast may bring unnecessary panic to many folks in S’pore. We are not as civic conscious or as socially responsible.

MOH could be too proud to ask for technology help? Or do they even know what to ask for in the first place. Maybe since most of their management are trained doctors so they think they know everything? Or they keep clinging on to their past glories, the SARS gold standard?

Kenneth Mak, thanked SAF in today’s press conference. It’s strange that he didn’t also thank the Police and SCDF as well. Some undercurrents?

We did not use electronic wristband as we have our own Home Detention System but MOH chose not to use it for whatever reasons.

FWs wearing coloured rubber wrist band? For what? Thought they just head straight back to their dorms after work.

I haven't listened to PM's full speech nor the full media conference as I was so busy this afternoon till now. He mentioned leveraging IT somewhere in his address, and that someone is now working on some app similar to the type employed by Korea.

I was more interested in Josephine Teo's defensive response to 1 foreign media (?) and 1 local reporter's questions. I think she should be asked to step aside and let Chief of Guards Mr Seet take charge! LOL!

When LKY was still alive in 2003, Lim Hng Kiang was moved from MOH to PMO for making some faux pas about the SARS superspreader? Then Khaw came in to take over the SARS operation in Apr 2003. Come GE 2020, she should be moved to Marymount SMC! Don't drag Ng Eng Hen down! Ng Eng Hen did no wrong. He is now helping Josephine Teo by deploying his poor army boys at the dorms. Imagine how worried wives and dc of these SAF regulars are right now.

MOM is like the 猪队友 of the entire taskforce. Every ministry is working its guts out to safeguard its respective turfs and trying hard not to drop any ball, but MOM dropped their ''Foreign Manpower'' ball and caused so much agony to everyone, including Lawrence Wong and Gan Kim Yong! The first half of the match was quite ok. Second half of the match was like :faint: Now so many F&B staff are going lose their income.

MWs' coloured wristbands for identifying who's supposed to be isolated at which floor of the same dorm I think. Saw it on FB.

Don't read too much into Kenneth Mak's omission of SPF and SCDF. SAF should be lauded really! SAF is helping MOM to clean :imconstipated: !!!

Jo Teo. I think she doesn’t know what is going on. Very scary.

I read from TWC2 that 20-21 FWs have been locked inside a room in a particular dorm. When one of them wanted to pee, it took the security guard half an hour to open the door.

I read that in one dorm, the catered food was horrendous and FWs threw the food away. Not sure if someone cut corners as the food now is left only with gravy and rice.

Hopefully the SAF folks on the ground treat the FWs well and not in the manner they treat BMT recruits. Otherwise, FWs aren’t used to it and it can backfire, I think.

If we extend CB, the FWs’ isolation also got extended right? I think many FWs will go mad !!

i am not v good to hold for one week, i m like going to get grocery every 3 days - vegs, tidbit, dry products etc
sigh , but i go off peak or night

my dh on salad for some meals, cant buy lots of brocolli, avocado to keep long, need to replenish very 3ish days, else veg not fresh too
You can try vacuum pack your fresh veg fr the mkt. It’ll last slightly longer than leaving in its original state or wrapped in newspaper print. Use either ziplock bags or ordinary plastic submerged in basin of water with top opening kept away fr water entering. Then as the air pockets are pushed upwards, grab the top & rubber band it or heat seal the top. So long as there’s no air pockets inside yr fresh veg, oxidation will not occur & yr veg can keep fresh longer. Give it a go.

                        MP,
I feel sad everyday the figures don’t go below 1K. Those SC/PR seems to hv fallen slightly but I rmbr Dr Leong said he hopes for single digit or less. Everyday I was praying it’ll fall below 1K & CB hoping the CN works. Can’t imagine the poor FW feeling scared stiff but also comforted that a SengKang doc wld make attempts to daily use a loudspeaker to assure the workers hes there to treat them & for them to maintain good hygiene practices, etc. Hope those FW who caught COVID are strong enuf to recover fr it as news informed that they are mostly young workers.

Even more sad to hv latest 84 year old grandmother passed on.
