      slmkhoo,
Will the PhoonHuat @ Bouna Vista be within yr range for Baking powder? I got mine fr Clementi just 2 weeks back.
I was just there last week, before I realised that my baking powder was running low, and I don't want to make another trip there just for 1 item (limiting movement). I usually buy baking powder at supermarkets, which was why it didn't occur to me then. I'll go when I run out if the supermarkets haven't restocked by then.

Even if there are pple moving around, where are the sources of infection?
I noticed from the official reports that those people who caught it, some of them went to work *while still sick*.

Transmitted to colleagues, customers, even if all wearing masks?

Or they touched surfaces that are not cleaned thoroughly?

        Or travelled on public transport?

Anybody who is out there mingling in the community (or on public transport, at supermarkets, malls) around them during their sick period (not quarantined yet)...are at high risk of catching it too.

I can understand if daily rated workers/essential workers under pressure by bosses feel pressured to continue working while sick. But they are walking virus transmitters.

Stay home to keep away from them.

This is what I notice too. From my living room window, I can still see (at all hours, weekdays & weekends) people waiting at the bus stop & cars non-stop on the roads.

The people walking about/at bus stop are all dressed in casual clothing, don’t look like essential workers to me.

I think Singaporeans have difficulty differentiating between real necessities & wants.

This is the reason why there are still community cases arising. None of them are afraid of being those 5-15 daily cases? Stay at home!
Few factors as mentioned by some moms here:
            1. smaller new-generation flats/condos; mid- to big-size family of 5-6 (incl helpers/elderly) in 90-110sqm
            2. limited storage space in fridge/freezer, indirectly due to smaller kitchens in most Singapore's newer condos.
            3. lack of cooking skills and/or cooking utensils/appliances for FTW families
            4. lazy to cook and wash up 2-3 times per day
            5. want to avoid supermarket crowds, so don't cook but tabao
            6. distrust food deliveries' level of hygiene; dissatisfaction with higher delivery charge of $3.99
            7. mental stress/issues, personality (extroverts vs introverts)
            8. marital problems (escape downstairs to drink beer)
            9. empty nest with grown-up live-in kids busy with WFM, or with married kids and grandkids they cannot visit
            10. joblessness
            11. tamchiak; sick of homecooked food

It's easier for regular office workers, overseas students, local students to stay home because they are pretty used to sedentary lifestyle and well-accustomed to seat work. Studious students, undergraduates and graduate students generally can sit at their desk to study for hours. Their willpower to hibernate like a hermit is strong. They can stay focused on the job within 4 walls. Workaholics can stay fixated on the screen to finish half a day's work without even stepping out of their cubicle to pee/lunch out.

But in every society, there are free spirits, non-conformists and wanderlusters. They'd never loved sitting at their study desk to cram for school exams for hours and months. That's why you have self-employed/freelancers (real estate agents, insurance agents), deliverymen and taxi-drivers/PHVs sectors. They are born to move around! Public service/office jobs bore them to death. Some seniors are just goalless and idle who do not like to pick up new hobbies and skills from tv to kill time at home.

As long as the Govt does not declare a full-fledged 'lockdown' and continues to permit F&Bs to stay open, you will continue to see loiterers at voiddecks and coffeeshops. I saw 1 Ah Pek sitting alone on the kerb beside a coffee shop. He wasn't tabao-ing or smoking (or maybe he already did). He was just whiling his time away and watching the world go by.

\"Then from May 12, selected businesses such as barbers, home-based businesses and laundry services will be allowed to resume operation.

Schools will also begin to bring back students in small groups for face-to-face lessons from May 19, with the focus on graduating cohorts taking national exams this year.

Priority will be given to those who need school facilities for coursework and those who need support during school vacation periods.

\"We are making good progress but we are not yet at single digits when it comes to local transmission, so it is not time to lift the tighter measures we have in place,\" said National Development Minister Lawrence Wong on Saturday (May 2).

The average number of new cases in the community daily has dropped by more than half to 12 in the past week from 25 in the week before, according to the Ministry of Health.\"

I see quite many people buying cutting and trimming scissors online.

Maybe after this CB period, many will diy on own already..they become better cook, make own bubble tea, home hairstylist etc..may affect dependency on services probably.

my uncle is one of those retired, unmarried guy lor..b4 CB, one day go out few times to coffee shop, eat meals and tea time. They want to talk to friends I guess. During CB period, my mom cook for him to lessen the going out frequency.

One thing that has been bugging me ever since I read this article:

How come sitting behind someone infected with Covid19 can get you infected?

If sitting in front of, I understand. Cos you’d be breathing in their stale breath, if they sneeze or cough you’d be in their direct line. But can’t figure out why behind them is a risk.

This would have implications for traveling on buses, wouldn’t it? Need to at least sit passengers at least 2 rows apart, or at least “zigzag” fashion from each other? Same with future lectures, classrooms, seminars?

“In another case, a woman, 58, was exposed to a confirmed case on Feb 27 at a singing class.

On March 1, she attended a church service, and is thought to have infected a woman, 26, and a man, 29, who were seated one row behind her. The 58-year-old later developed symptoms on March 3.“
