      E3 & Jennifer,

Thanks. But just when I’m pretty sure my ds will be attending PH, the topic then changed to the high expectation of the sch (what with 1/3 cohort failing math?)

My poor son. He’s doesn’t know what’s going to hit him :!:

That's true, I would rather my son be in a class where his standard is comparable to his peers than be in CH where i think he will be among the last which can be demoralising to him? so the class itself is not so important.

i heard that the P5 SA1 math is so tough that 1/3 of the cohort failed!

About the class allocation, I just like to say that my P3 boy is not heng this year, both teachers not doing their job properly. Does other parents whose child is not among the top 3 classes have the same situation?
About P5 MA, my elder boy saw a big dip in his CA1, too yayapapaya. Luckily by SA he pulled up. Once the child undergoes the rigorious P5, P6 is not so hard. In fact, P6 was a lax year until near PSLE period when the class just complete exam papers after exam papers.

I know one parent with her girl in Kindness 3, she told me tat her girl's maths worksheets were marked wrong for right answers. Poor girl is even more confused now.

My neighbour's son in P5 flunked his SA1 Math...actually the whole class failed. Neighbour told me to expect a BIG drop in all subjects in P5....something which his colleague mentioned too.

My son is in Kindness and he is almost last in class...he scored 79 for Science (the highest among his 4 subjects). Life is so tough in Pei Hwa...I am burnt after CA/SA. 😢 😢

I have a 2nd son in P1 this yr. I was worried about him since last yr becos he is a happy go lucky person who is not academically inclined. However, we just tried to get him do his work consistently and fortunately P1 is rather easy going for the 1st half of the yr to help the new kids phase in gradually. now i think he is getting the hang of school life and doing quite ok. i think his P1 teachers are good too, after seeing them during the meeting session. so dun worry too much abt how your son will do.

Oh dear!!! Quite demoralising for the kids and teachers.

Janet, when u did revision for your son, did you let him attempt other school papers? How did he fare? How is PH std (P5) compared to other schools?

                      dyh,
Thanks for the assurance. Looks like the danger pits are in P3 & P5.

When it was commented that we will expect a big drop in results for P3 and P5, what do you guys feel is reasonable set of results for P3? Can we still expect our kids to obtain average for 4 subjects to be >85 (Band 1)? Saw the average results for all subjects around 70+ for P3 cohort as compared to 80+ in P2 last year.
