      Lock:
      Highest score

      EL:47/48
      CL:49/50
      Maths:100
      Science: 99

CL: 18 girls have 45 and above
Maths: abt 15 girls have 90 and above

That's abt all the info I have.

How about Peace class? How did the girls do?
      Hi Lock,
      Thanks for the info.

EL: 44 (I feel that generally the class did not do well for EL)
CL: 49.5 (from my girl's CL class, not peace)
      Maths: 100 (only 1), 2 got 98
      Science: 98.5

One question, do you think they did well for EL, I think maybe the paper was quite difficult, I am not sure. How about the general science performance?

According to my dd (cannot be 100% certain), the average scores for Science is ard 90 and for EL is 41.

I looked through the EL paper and felt it was doable, not extremely challenging (my view only, ha).

The girls in Peace did very well, on par with the Hope girls. Look like its going to be very competitive for streaming at year end.

          Hi Lock,

I went thru the EL Paper, thought it was OK also except for comprehension (MCQ) which I though too much focus on the the vocabulary instead of testing on the understanding of the passage. It is either you know it or you don’t. Moreover, they were being tested on Vocabulary together with Grammar in MCQ and close passages. Thought it was overdone.

Really feel it is quite stressful as the marks are very close and the girls simply cannot afford to make careless mistakes if they want to be in the tops…

Any idea how many got 100 for Maths? I am going for the meet parent seesion on 27th May.

            Hi Snowyqueen,

Do u have any idea what is the highest and lowest overall percentage from ur gal's class?

I nearly fainted after the PTM. Highest % in my gal's class is 93.7% and lowest is 80 something (I cant remember the exact %). What shocked me is that the teacher told me my gal's position in class is between 15-20 (she can't reveal the exact position) and my gal's has 90.4%.

Am wondering if the marks are as competitive over at peace?

Hope to hear from u. 🙂

Hi Lock, I forgot to ask about the highest score in my DD class (should have done that) but maybe you do not have to feel so stressed lah, my girl is about 89% and her position is about. I also think it is very competitive and your dd class is still the best. I feel even more peh chek because my dd Maths and Science results were among the top few in class but then got pulled down by her poor English (onlyBand 2), can you imagine? But I can share with you that good average score for Chinese Oral was 18-20, Chinese Composition was 17-20, English Compo may be around 16-18 and English oral was 14-16. Most of the marks were very close. Quite difficult to score for CL and EL, unlike Maths and Science. So need to work extra hard liao for SA2 and probably need to score above 90% in order to secure a place in Hope......very stressed. But your girl is OK lah, she had done well :celebrate: .

Quite suprised that the highest is only that but then it is difficult to score very well for all areas tested for paper 1.

Thanks. I am actually very pleased with DD's results and thot she has done very well. Just was shocked when her teacher told me her grades were just average among her peers.

It is really very stressful to be in Hope class and my dd can feel it too. At times, she wld tell me that she prefers to be in Peace class (as like last yr) cos dun need to work soooo hard. Her form teacher did say that majority of the Hope girls are very hardworking. Hence, the stellar results.

EL marks seem to be lower across the level. In Hope, 87 and above is considered top range. Whereas for Science and Maths, 90 is considered mid-range. :!:

Ya Lock, maybe I can share with you based on actual average scores for SA1 (excluded CA1) for Maths and Science, the highest was 9X and I believe my dd was second, 9X. So can you imagine how much marks most of them are pulled down by languages, so I think languages are an very important deciding factor, must work hard on it. 😄

DD's father keeps telling me not to aim for Hope, just let her enjoy her studies. I have been thinking about it. I think if she can stay in Peace is good enough..... for I really do not want to feel so stressed. I got so stressed up during the results released time, one subject by one subject, I almost could not concentrate on my work and kept thinking about her marks and what went wrong and how many mistakes she made......I felt it was an agony.

You are right snowyqueen. Really stressed. So I just get my daughter to do her best and leave the streaming and allocation of class to the school. 🙂

It's more impt that she has an enjoyable school life. 🙂

                      Hi all,

Anyone send your gal to Math enrichment class? My gal is very careless and she is nonchalant about losing marks due to carelessness. On the other hand, she is not so mathematically inclined… Am thinking of sending her to Math Hub, but she says she dislikes to go there(she went only for the 2 wk holiday class) as the questions are way too tough…(the worksheets contain questions 2 levels above their current level, beside IQ questions). Not sure whether to send her to Math Hub or any of you have other recommendation for a good math class that teaches higher order thinking skills?
                      Thanks so much!

                        Hi All,

I’m thinking of enrolling my DD this year for P1. How’s the school focus on academics and CCA ? I noted fr the school website that the number of classes reduces progressively from 6 in P1 to 3 in P6. Is this correct and if so is there any reason why ? Thanks !
