All you need is

just one asymtomatic spreader, and the whole class can get it, whoever is weak in immune system

Didn't you read report that
Covid-19 not just attack respiratory system, but other parts of vital organ body as well ?

Did you read recent report that
300+ young Malaysian children, got hit
?

Do NOT undermine the seriousness & danger of covid19, to young children

Many people think that covid-19 tend to harm old people.

Reports have now shown how devastating it can be, to young children and teenagers
Presumably the asymptomatic spreaders have been around for months now, even before the circuit breaker. With good hand hygiene, and now wearing masks, physical distancing etc, the risks can be managed. It will not eliminate all risks, but going to school carries the risk of being knocked down by a bus, or falling down the stairs, or catching the flu, and we have not considered keeping our kids home for those reasons. Other infectious diseases can also cause death in extreme cases, even complications from the normal flu.

Parents who are very fearful can make the choice to keep the children out of school altogether, at the cost of the kids missing out on social interaction and lessons, and the parents having to manage the care and education themselves. In this period of fear, I don't think the authorities will prosecute under the compulsory education laws. But personally, I would send my kids to school if they are in K2 and above. For younger kids, the need to be in school (socially and academically) is less, so staying home longer won't be as much of an issue. I don't think the risks are so great that they outweigh what older kids would miss if they continued to stay home until the COVID-19 risk is completely gone.

do Not suggest to keep children, out of school

Instead,

substitute PE lesson with something else

They can do 早操 like in Chinese schools!

We should give MOE, principals and teachers some credit - I'm sure they will consider all the risks of transmission and adjust the PE lesson activities as well. They also care that their charges do not run risks and spread viruses unecessarily.

She know she herself is sick, right ?

still want to go to work, spread virus to colleagues, harm others.
People can suffer & die from covid19, just because of selfish people like her
I am trying to find out where to buy the local brand N95 Air+ masks. They do not have an online store. If anyone knows which Watson’s physical store has it, please let me know. I need to figure out which size to buy cos online don’t have measurements!
I bought my Air+ from Watsons from haze last year. I have been to Watsons last week but did not see Air+ only surgical masks. In case you still wanna buy, I fit M. Pri sch petite boys should fit S.
Thank you!

I can’t find this Air+ brand online, thru all 4 of their supposed stockists (Watson’s, Guardian, Unity and Lazada).
You probably won't find Air+ masks in the market for the time being, if you hadn't bought any before Feb. I bought 3 boxes from the last haze too.

The 2 production lines that were shifted back from Taiwan in Feb are apparently only producing hospital grade smaller size masks for frontline HCWs.

In another ST Photo, you can see ST Engg manufacturing surgical masks too. I'm not sure if they'd refitted any of the 2 Air+ lines brought back from Taiwan or they'd bought new surgical mask equipment and set up more lines to meet the demand of our healthcare sector.

I think many of you have not gone out enough for hours to feel the pain of wearing a mask for prolonged periods. There've been reports in North Asia that their working adults and kids have developed ear rashes. Do google to check out some online hacks to circumvent that. Otherwise, get the Indonesian masks that are designed for tudung wearers (2 elastic bands behind your head like how you secure your goggles). The back of your ears can be rather painful if you don it for 3 hrs+Recess+3 hrs in school or for 4 hrs+lunch+4 hrs in office.

Before school reopens, do teach your young BESPECTACLED kids (esp those in lower primary and fidgety boys) how to pinch the malleable wire tightly over the nose bridge, and press firmly along the contours of their cheekbones before putting on their glasses over that piece of wire, so that their lenses won't fog up. The fog that comes with every breath you take can be annoying I assure you if you're sloppy in securing that mask properly after each meal or each PE lesson.

There are indeed many naysayers. I don’t know why some just cannot be objective & hold so much fears. Granted some level of caution & precaution is nec in this pandemic, but more & beyond somehow is so smothering. I s’times stay away fr participation. Life goes on.m

Agree with her. I wld keep calm, keep safe distancing, wear masks, keep higher hygiene practices, wash/wash/wash Our hands frequently. Teach our kids to develop these good habits as part of their system.

wow, this is going to be new norm..all wearing mask. Kiddos haven't been wearing mask/for more than 1 hour, need to slowly adapt when school reopen.
DS finds the free reusable mask too thick and suffocating. I will stock up on the disposable kind. Probably need to prepare 3 per day: change after eating recess & change after PE or when sweaty.

We are in a very good mood now after hearing the MOE press release news. Especially my extrovert boy is ultra happy at the thought of finally going back to school to see all his friends in person.
disposable mask is easier to get now, hope this production n supply continue. i prefer disposable ones too,
same my kids did not wear mask for more than 1 hr yet... sigh hot sch days ...

With or without virus, these are all basic, good habits to maintain (except safe distancing... no need 1m to 2m so far lah).
