I don't know if rules have changed, but I was under the impression that MGS is \"full\" school, so a sibling of a girl in the sec school is also eligible for Phase 1. Can someone confirm this?

If your older daughter is still studying inside MGS primary school.
E.g. she is now in P6, then Yes, u can enrol your younger K2 daughter for P1, under \"Phase 1\" (sibling)
2)
However, if your older daughter is currently in MGS Secondary school Sec 1, u can enrol your younger daughter under Phase 2A(2), but not under Phase 1
can read the criteria, from MOE here

Hi Zeal mummy,
Hi! May I ask...
if the elder sis is in mgs Sec 1, Which phrase does the younger sis register for the primary mgs? If she is going in pri 1. Thanks![/quote]
first, let me apologize, in my earlier above reply.
below is a question, posed by an Officer from Ministry of Education -
what is your younger daughter's birth-date ?
As MGS is a \"Full\" school,
even though your older daughter is studying inside MGS Girls' Secondary school now, already graduated from MGS primary, however
if your younger daughter is born anytime, within
\"2 January 2014 until 1 January 2015\", both start and end date inclusive,
Yes,
then your younger daughter qualify, to join under Phase 1 (sibling), and not under Phase 2A(2)
However,
if your younger daughter is Not born within the above range of dates,
you will need to enrol her for Primary 1 registration, under a separate different procedure. Do contact MOE, if need help or further clarification.
Thank you -

Any advise with how much confidence should i proceed with such plan?
Hello all, I have a guarantee choice of PLMGS for phase 2A, and I am also a church member. Should I be ambitious and move <1km to MGS and try for MGS 2B1? Same time, I can also participate in PLMGS 2B (if I want to) - I have checked previous years and almost no balloting for 2B applicants regardless of distance. So for illustration, (forget about phase 2A) I could move to Bukit Timah <1Km of MGS and then decide whether I should ballot in MGS 2B1 or apply for a guarantee spot in PLMGS 2B. Does this make sense risking a guarantee spot for a chance in MGS 2B1 ballot? My daughter is born in 2017 (https://www.channelnewsasia.com/news/singapore/number-of-singapore-births-in-2017-lowest-in-7-years-10523118) which is a historic low birth rate in the past 10 years. The population of Chinese born that year is also at a very low of 1.01 rate (from my observation the school is dominated mainly by Chinese). So do I stand a good chance at 2B1 MGS if I choose not to go for PLMGS? Thanks

Hi everyone, if you don't mind, I would like to check if any parents of existing students could help me with these queries:
1) What time does school finish on most days?
2) Which days are netball training sessions?
Just trying to plan my daughter's piano lessons accordingly. Thank you!

Nard, first of all no need so kan cheong.. I believe you only registering next year right? Whether can get in is one thing. Most years ballot starts 2B <1km. But good luck.

CCAs should start P3 onwards. No need to plan piano schedule 4-5 years in advance. -
NardNegoy is probably asking about MGS Secondary, just that he asked in the wrong thread (MGS Primary) that’s all.
I can’t imagine the parent of a 6 year old would know with such certainty that she will be a Netball player in future. Even if she has the long legs genes & her mother is some retired national player, there’s no guarantee the child will follow in her footsteps. -

Okay, first of all, there's no need to get all preachy and judgmental. If you get to call me \"kan cheong\" when I'm \"only registering next year right\", and yet you're spamming questions on multiple school threads and changing your longtime church simply to get into a school - and your daughter is only 3 years old??? - what does that make you?

FYI, my daughter is currently playing netball and the piano, both of her own interest. I didn't and don't play netball or the piano. I am just doing some forward planning with regards to giving her a stable schedule going forward, so that her schooling life is easier.
Anyway, your unhelpful comment is noted. A kind parent has since sent me a PM with the answers. Thank you to the person, and to all those who continue to make these forums a wonderful place for information and sharing. Truly appreciated. -
