I stay within 1 to 2km away frm HPPS. What are my odds at 2c? Does HPPS accept PV who stays 1 to 2km away? I have emailed FMPS which is 1 to 2km away to ask about their PV scheme. They have gently hinted to me that they typically do not accept PVs who are not within 1km. Thanks all! Otherwise I am within 1 km of New Town and 1 to 2km away from queenstown primary. Any views on these 2 primary schs as well?

Your odds to HPPS is zero.

            Hi All,

I understand there is no affiliation for HPPS, I would be grateful to hear from parents that has children that have graduated from there and the most common options for Secondary school?

We are currently staying within 1km and looking for our son to attend in 2022.

            Thanks

Every cohort has about 300 students. Impossible to tell you \"most common\" cohort.

                Thanks Swc,

Unfortunately that does not answer the question… I was not asking for a definitive list of all 300 ‘cohorts’ Secondary school placements.

I appreciate that yes there are always going to be varying opinions of secondary school, given that Singaporeans don’t like our children to travel too far, this will impact the choices for our children.

Therefore there will be an underlying trend and behavioural pattern of where parents want their children to go for Secondary education, so for the avoidance of doubt:

Is there a high percentile of the graduates that go to the likes of SJI, RI, St Andrews, MS? Or is there is strong preference for ease and locality like ACS and Fairfield Methodist?

There is no right or wrong answer, just trying to gauge the general consensus…

                Thanks in advance

if you are looking at past years trend statistics (numbers),

the number of students who scored 259 Tscore and above, able to enter top IP schools (RI, Hwa Chong) via PSLE T-score,

or the number (percentage) of students, who scored 250 & above, therefore qualify to enter IP Secondary schools -

only the Principal / VP of Henry Park primary, can provide such numbers,
                  because

only they (authority of the school) have access, to these numbers u looking for.

Anything above 250, Yes, HPPS students can still go to IP schools.

A few IP schools, at the low end of 25x Cut-off-point, are (inclusive of )

                  - SCGS Secondary (IP), around 252

                  - Catholic High (IP)

                  - Victoria Secondary (IP)

                  - Temasek JC (IP)

Any PSLE student(s) who scored below 250, usually end up in O-level (OP) schools.
Total, in Singapore, how many OP schools ?
                  close to 80 ?

                  This means that
as long as the pupil's Tscore go below 250, any HPPS P6 student will end up, in any of these OP schools.

                  Alternately,
can ask those current / past P6 students, who could had been briefed by their school Principal during assembly time, or during Parents-meet-Teachers session, inside the school hall. However, even if they had been briefed, they might not want to share this type of info publicly in an open forum, since it is private & confidential, to Henry Park primary school itself.

                  Otherwise, outsiders won't know.

                  Btw,
eventually which Secondary school, your son or daughter go to (or end up in), will depend on

                  - his (his) own unique PSLE performance for his particular cohort batch,
nothing to do with how other fellow P6 students inside his (her) class are performing, nor with any past years' P6 students inside HPPS, because a lot, will depend on his (her) own effort, hard work, in preparing PSLE.
In short, look at yourself .

Not look to the left, not look to the right, but, look at yourself
In other words, do Not compare
                  No point comparing

                  example

if a student is lazy, sloppy, not interested in studying, parents must \"push and push\", time & again, keep reminding pupil constantly, \"hey, have u done your homework ?\", what do you think, is the chances of this student end up, in a good Secondary school ?

Honestly I am still entirely sure what your question is about.

But for whatever it is worth, every year, around 25% to 1/3 of the school population scored 250 and above. And about 10% of total population score well enough for them to qualify for the top few IP schools. Take these figure with a pinch of salt as they are just based on the last 3 to 4 years and even within these 3 to 4 years, figures do fluctuate. However, as to where these kids finally select to go to depend on so many factors so it is impossible for anyone to really say what schools are more popular with students from Henry Park.

                      Hope this helps.

I assume those numbers are for P6 cohort as a whole.

Jacey should note that HPPS is a GEP school. Hence, numbers may skewed towards the top school. Also, a number of GEP students could be “transferred” from other schools. Hence, “locality” factors may not be an issue or may be different.
