How many Sec 1 classes are there, in CCHMS ? Are they randomly mixed, hence all Sec 1 classes become Mixed ability, or classes go by Tscore ?

Are there more boys than girls, in this school, or equally balanced gender (50 % each) ? Thanks

(asking for my friend, posted to this school)
it seems a little late to reply now but yeah!!
I’m a current sec two student in CCHM, and there is a class for music special programme( for students with music background, if I’m not wrong, the requirement is grade 3/5 to get accepted?
Most classes are mixed randomly, but in my cohort there is a ‘best’ class because most of the students who score at least 25+ for psle are in that class, the top scorer for our year, 269+3 is also in that class. Maybe the school does filter, but technically most students are allocated randomly and only if you apply for the music special programme, then you would be in the same class as those who applied for this programme as well
          hope this helps! 😄

            Hi all,

If a Sec 3 student score (B3 or B4) in Standard Chinese (O-level) paper, are students allowed to proceed onto Sec 4 to take Higher Chinese (O-level) ?

            Or

only those students scored (A1 or A2) in Sec 3 Standard Chinese (O-level), then allowed to take Sec 4 Higher Chinese (O-level) ?

            Thank you, for clarification

(asking on behalf of a friend)

              Yes, if you appeal.

Hi, I am a parent of a Sec 1 student. May I know what were previous years’ Sec 3 Subject Combination choices? The information page of the school indicated ‘Science’ as one of the O Level subjects. Is it Sc(P/C), Sc(C/B) or Sc(P/B)? Does the school have class(es) that do double pure sciences (e.g. Phy+Chem / Chem+Bio) and double humanities (e.g. SS+1Elective + a pure Humanities subject different from the chosen Elective)? If there is a copy of last years’ subject combination handout, is it possible to post here? Thank you very much.

not sure if CCM (Main) end of Sec 2 streaming into Sec 3 subject combination, is similar to that of Year 2020 CCH (Yishun) requirements

found on page 21, of CCH (Yishun) slides, are the Sec 3 subject combination

found on page 10, are the O-level \"L1R5\" requirements

                  1)
if you are looking at CCM (Main) Triple Science, Yes, the school does offer !
Students can take 8-subject-combination, including Triple pure Sciences, with Combined humanities

What is the critieria, for Triple Science ?

                  answer, from slide #21
Score at least 70% overall in Science AND
                  70% overall in Mathematics

                  2) refer slide #22, it is important

                  @ end of Sec 2,
your son (daughter) would have taken Total, 3 humanities (English Lit, History, Geography).

going up into Sec 3 level, which humanities subject can I take, or drop ?
                  answer, from slide #22

Score at least 60% in Geography or
Score at least 60% in History or
Score at least 60% in English Literature

That means, if score below 60 % in humanities, cannot take this subject in Sec 3

                  Example

suppose there are two Sec 2 students (X and Y)
@ EYA (End-of-Year-end-Assessment), below are the scores of X and Y

                  a)
                  student X

                  Sec 2 English Literature : 56 marks (upon 100)
                  Sec 2 Geography : 58
                  Sec 2 History : 65

==> X qualify to take Sec 3 History, but not Eng Lit nor Geog

                  b)
                  student Y

                  Sec 2 English Literature : 68 marks (upon 100)
                  Sec 2 Geography : 72
                  Sec 2 History : 58

==> Y qualify to choose either Sec 3 (Eng Literature or Geog), but not History

                  3) can I take Computing, if I am interested in Computing ?

there is a quota set, maximum 40 vacancies
                  depend on your Maths performance

refer slide #22 (requirement, for Computing )

                  4)
                  definition of \"Combined\" humanities, means

compulsory SS (Social studies) + combined Elective (either Elective History / or Elective Geography / or Elective English Literature)

                    1. May I know why do you need the information now? You and your child will be briefed on this next year.
                    2. The school offers ONLY Pure Sciences, no combined Sciences.
                    3. Yes, the school has Double Science + Double Humanities or Triple Science + Combined Humanities combination.
                    4. The school doesn't offer Computing.

As Chung Cheng High offer only Express O-level stream, and her Psle Cut off point at 244 (Psle 2019 cohort) is high,

there is No \"Combined Science\" subjects offered at Sec 3 level, only Pure Science.

If your son (daughter) prefer \"Double\" Science combination, is either

                        - Pure (Chem + Bio),

                        or

                        - Pure (Chem + Physics) combination
