Hi when is the latest we need to change address by? Is it possible to use one address for phase 2b and if unsuccessful move nearer to the school to stand better chance on balloting for 2C?

Your senario not possible. Address change must be in NRIC by 01-Jul-2020

why not possible?d Do you mean can't change address after 1-Jul-2020? We've planned to use one address for phase 2b (school A) and if not successful, change to another address for balloting for 2c (school B). Do you mean they don't allow address change during July and August? Thanks,

MOE website only mentioned if address is used for priority admission, you must reside 30 months from 01-Jul-2020. It’s abit risky to play around the system so try to be more prudent.

MOE’s sentence about address is hard to understand. It did not say the move-in day. I can understand the calculation starting point from 1 Jul 20, even you move to new address earlier. If so, I move between Jul and Aug, it can still be calculated from 1 Jul 20. So the minimum end day of staying the new address will be the same, end of P2.

I wrote directly to MOE, they did not answer directly, just repeat the sentences from the website.

Thanks,[/quote]sounds like you are going for a competitive school(with balloting) so you need to have stayed at the place from the 1st of July 2020. Otherwise mor will have received two applications from you with two different addresses. This can leave to complications

2020 we are dealing with everything online, so you will never know if you have issues which disqualify you

MOE's website, as well as the FAQ section, both state that \"a child who gains priority admission through their distance category is required to reside at the address used for registration for at least 30 months from the start of the P1 Registration Exercise on 1 July 2020\". So whether you get in via balloting at 2B or 2C, the address used for balloting must be reflected on the parents NRIC as of 1 July 2020. Note that this is not a move-in date, but an official change of address on the NRIC (at police post, ICA, etc), which is what MOE uses as address criteria.

So if you were to apply for one school in 2B, then change address in mid July to apply for another school in 2C, the date reflected on the sticker at the back of your NRIC would be mid July, not 1 July, which doesn't fulfill the balloting home address criteria. Thus, it is possible your old 2B address would come into play during balloting instead, and that would affect your 2C chances at the school you are targeting.

It's best to stick with one address and work on a strategy accordingly, based on the above. I hope this helps. Cheers.
