BBC: Singapore bans Britons for lockdown 'bar crawl'
      https://www.facebook.com/bbcnews/posts/10157927980317217
these angmo, both men & women, aged 30, 35, 38, are fined $9000
their work passes, have been revoked
they visited the bar named \"bar bar black sheep\"

a stern reminder to all foreign workers and visitors that,
upon entering our country Singapore, you must respect our local laws and customs, regardless of where you are from, or your social and professional status.

Maybe heavy fine is an effective deterrent.

The last time I used “time-out” was when my kids were in the kindergarten when I took away their Lollipops for 1hr as a punishment.

Yes, there were safe distancing rules but why was there no one from ActiveSG to monitor and enforce these rules?

The advisory could be better worded to show concern on the part of ActiveSG on its sports halls becoming an infection cluster and to implore users of its facilities to adhere to the social distancing rules for their own good. A scolding or even punishing tone in its advisory doesn’t reflect well on ActiveSG and by extension the ruling party, especially when a GE campaign is being waged.

The organizer of the Badminton social event has come out & defended himself, but I still think he was wrong to organize it that way.

The purpose of the “max 5” per social group is to keep the virus contact numbers (& therefore tracing numbers, necessary quarantine numbers) low, capped at 5 per “cluster”.

By booking more courts to accommodate his group of 29, who inevitably cannot control their mingling among themselves, does not go with the rationale of max 5. Now the whole group of 29 gotta be monitored.

And all the rest of the sports in SG suay suay gotta have more curbs becos of this group!

No doubt the organizer was wrong but the rules didn’t prohibit him from doing that. He used a loophole in the rules, nothing to be proud of but nothing too damning as the group knew each other and contact tracing should be easy.

I am however shocked and disappointed by words used in the advisory like “time-out” in a bid to punish all the sports facilities users without reflecting on the inadequacy of its monitoring and enforcement actions

I have seen big groups occupying 2 tables side by side in restaurants and how about those angmo pub goers who flouted the rules? Must all restaurants and pubs closed down to punish some errant customers?

                    https://www.straitstimes.com/business/economy/fairprice-freezes-prices-of-100-daily-essentials-till-year-end

Prices of 100 daily essential items sold under the FairPrice house brand will be frozen until the end of the year, as part of a support package to help Singaporeans manage the cost of living during the coronavirus pandemic.

These items include groceries such as rice, oil, beverages and poultry, as well as batteries, toiletries and household cleaners, said NTUC Enterprise yesterday.

On top of the price freeze, the $50 million support package also includes extensions of seniors' discounts until Dec 31 this year.

So the masks are a different colour this time? Not black? I find dark colours hot (may be my imagination), and also boring.

Are they the same type as the last time? I find them too thick and uncomfortable, and prefer to stick to my own homemade cotton masks. I'll pass mine to my daughter to bring back to the UK (she may like the thickness!).

My helper got 3 masks last time fr the mailbox, 2 of which are colorful ones. Think fr some volunteer’s sewing efforts? I thot we see only for FWs. Was wondering why we only got a piece but I prefer wearing store-bought surgical masks.
