      Hi all,

May I know what is an estimate acceptance percentage rate of RI vs. HCI students into NUS medical school? Thanks.
Only students with the right mixes of IQ, EQ and AQ are considered having the right quotient for studying Medicine. Besides academic excellence, they should also be an all-rounder in all things. These students could be from RI or HCI etc.. So an estimation may not be justifiable. NUS YLL and NTU LKCSoM each has their algorithm and formula to access and select potential students. As long as you have the criteria to apply for medicine, which school of thought you are coming from does not matter.

Hello, are there any parents here whose Son is having NS in the Singapore Police Force, enlisted in April and has received any updates on the outcome of deferment? My son was accepted into YLLSoM this year but still awaiting the deferment outcome.

NUS YLLSoM will inform his SPF unit seeking for his NS disruption. It is still up to his unit's discretion whether to release him for medicine study. He will be informed the same way as those SAF Nsmen if disruption is approved.

You can call them at this hotline 1800-3676767 or +65 6567 6767. Your son is serving NS under SPF and all matters pertaining to NSman must channel to NSmen portal.

LKC has announced this year White Coat Ceremony will be virtual. I am sure it will be the same at YLL.

I heard LKC going to conduct orientation on 3rd July. Looks like there is no more spot for the wait lister’s this year in LKC. But NUS offered for many wait listers and LKC very very few.

How sure are you? I have called the admission office and they are still giving out offers for the waitlist students. Students will be notified by their outcome even till 3rd week of July.

Based on last year statistics, there were students got offered even at the last week of July before the start of M1.

Orientation will commences in the first week of August 2020.

They are still finalising students as well from MINDEF of enlistees for disruption.

Nothing is confirmed yet as it is still June 2020. We will see when July commences.

Always check the latest updates from NTU admission pages. They are going virtual for the orientation programs and here's the details: -

                    https://www.ntu.edu.sg/Freshmen/FreshmenGuide/Pages/GettingReady.aspx

                    https://www.ntu.edu.sg/Freshmen/hp/Pages/default.aspx

NTU LKCSoM has not make any latest announcements yet. The tentative dates as specified in the MMI leaflet was (Aug 3-7: Freshmen Orientation Week, details to be sent to offered students), (Aug 5: Freshmen Welcome Ceremony) and (Aug 11: White Coat Ceremony).

From which medicine school? Whoever it is, do not feel disheartened. We can still do wonderful and amazing things in life. Think of the next passionate thing you want to embark and bring out your full potential and the best in you.
