For oral which is on 13 Aug and 14 Aug. Which day is English oral, which day is chinese oral?
go by your class P6 student's registration number.

Half the P6 cohort in your school will take English oral, while the other half take Chinese Oral. Next day, they swap.

      Example

In a P6 Mainstream class, let's say, there are 40 pupils, per class

Your class Form Teacher will inform the whole class, closer to Prelim Oral -

      E.g.

Those from class index number starting from #1 to #20, on Day 1 Prelim Oral (specify the actual date), will sit for \"English\" Oral,

while those class index number starting from #21 to #40, will sit for \"Chinese\" Oral.

Next day, Day 2 Prelim Oral, then you all swap.

As for actual PSLE Oral (follow MOE Oral dates specified, on her website), follow the same identical manner (style), as your school's Prelim Oral, where \"Prelim\" Oral is a rehearsal, to the actual PSLE Oral

When will the school inform ?
In our year, the oral exam session schedule was out on 20 July, and the oral exam took place on 17 August.

In our class, the sequence was all 40 students had CL on day 1 and all 40 students had EL on day 2. I still have the schedule with me.

              xueyan,

Your child should have received the PSLE Entry Proof this week? Do take a look at first 2 rows of the table.
              13 Aug = Day 1
              14 Aug = Day 2

Thanks experienced parents for sharing your valuable advise. So for oral, the kids will take the same English or Chinese exam with their classmates on the same day?

How about the written exams, will they sit together with their classmates as well or will the school group the whole cohort by alphabetical order?

Now with COVID-19, chances are the students will be in their own classes.

Thanks. I was wondering about that too. Hope all our kids and their classmates/families will not be infected near PSLE time, if not there will be complications. Maybe for this year's cohort, Prelims will really be important as well :nailbite:

with this covid-19 cunning virus lurking around, plus just-in-case encounter asymtomatic school teachers/ P6 students around,
schools will try to minimize big (large) group gathering, as much as possible.

Unlikely to be held inside one big school hall (usually the scenario, in past years), wait for your turn to be called in, enter the Oral room partition, with 2 PSLE invigilators awaiting, sitting inside. One PSLE Oral invigilator will ask you questions, the other tend to remain silent, listened carefully to every word that u uttered during Oral, jot down some pointers or notes along as u talked, so that after Oral session over, after candidate leave the room (partition), they will discuss, decide how many marks (score) to give you for Oral.

                        example

when read aloud the Chinese oral passage \"lang du\", invigilators will note down whether

                        - are there any Chinese words (\"ci yu\") vocab, that P6 student (deploy smart strategy) quickly or purposely jumped (skipped)) over, because don't recognize the Chinese character, dont know how to pronounce, read aloud, hoping that the invigilator didn't realize that he (she) had skipped reading the Chinese character

                        - did the candidate pause (hesitated) here & there, in certain paragraph, not sure how to read, become reading not fluent ?

No P6 student want that horrible covid virus, nobody want to end up in isolated hospital ward, missed this important year 2020 PSLE exam, in any subject(s) components.

For written exam, most likely will be held inside your own classroom (yet to be confirmed, by your class Form Tr), with social distancing tables / chairs (measure), in place. Pupils sit acccording to their index number. Normally one week just before Prelim (SA2), from the way the cleaners after school dismissed, organize the tables / chairs insdie your classroom, can also tell from the seating arrangment
