Thanks for the prompt reply, does MCS require distance under 2cs? If i shift 1km frm ATS it will prob be over 2km frm MCS.

That will also depend on where you shift to. The area around Thomson V or the iconic Blk 22, ATS is < 1km and MCS (among many others) is between 1 to 2km. Notwithstanding, SC for MCS is sure in.

Don’t count on it. Subjected to the usual vacancy, internal priority Etc.

What is MCS equivalent to pick off leftovers from school like ATS, CHS, in the other regions? TNS is probably ATS for the east.

It’s not always so clear cut.

For Bishan, there’s scarcity of choice. Hence, it’s easy to identify the next likely choice school in Phase 2cs. In other regions, example Yishun, you have so many options or choices after Chongfu that it’s difficult to guess or identify an equivalent.

I don’t think it is scarcity in the bishan area, it is just that MCS is just well located.

                    Hi,
SC eldest child in sg50, was old girl in Ai Tong Sch. Did not manage to join the alumni missed the cut off date. (Any way to appeal) What are the chances to get into under 2A2? Do I need to move to <1km to have higher chance? Or what other choices do i have if i am unsuccessful under 2C if i shift. Does marymount convent require balloting beyond 2km for Sc. Currently staying in sengkang can consider shifting as i have 4 kids. Appreciate kind advice from the experts here. Still confused with the systems.

                    ...
SC < 1km for 2A2 is probably a guaranteed. However, that would also depends on how many former students are willing to pay up and join the alumni association. You should have a better idea after this year’s registration. If it ballots or is fairly close to balloting for Phase 2A2 this year, it’s likely to be the same next year and you may want to consider shifting.
                    ...

With only 7 vacancies for Phase 2A2 this year, ATS is more or less guaranteed that it will go into balloting for Phase 2A2. Therefore, there's a strong likelihood that it will also ballot next year. If you really want to enrol for ATS, my suggestion would be a shift to < 1km, plus signing up for the alumni association so that your number 2, 3 and 4 would not be left out.

Marmount looks fairly safe in 2C (all distance for SC) as MOE increase intake to 240 this year (assuming no change next year). The thinking process should be will the choices under your seng kang location vs ATS, which school will you prefer and act accordingly. if you move within 1km of ATS and enrolled to alumni, you secure the no. 2 to 4 places while you may need to manage the number 1 situation.

Hi all, I would like to find out more about the school environment and culture of NYPS and RGPS.

Could any parents kindly share some insights of the teaching staff, school values and culture please?

How about the CCAs that each school is known to excel in?

Appreciate your kind input. Thank you!
