All About Parent Volunteers (PV)

Any tips on how to secure a parent volunteer slot? Other than services rendered which many parents would have offered… are there any other things we can do to have a better chance of getting a PV slot. TIA!

Perhaps during this period, what the school needs is more volunteers to be safe distancing ambassadors, remind the kids to wash their hands & wipe down tables after recess. Currently this duty is done by form teachers and/or student leaders. U can lighten their burden by offering such services.

May I know if schools will choose PV based on distance as well? Can someone advise if it is it oversubscribed for PV in Pei Chun and Hong Wen?

Call up the 2 schools and ask them directly. Different schools, different policy. Not very high chance u can find any particular schools’ current PVs in this forum. This thread has been very dead.

I got rejection letters from Fairfield and Radin Mas. Has anyone heard from Nanyang Primary or Henry Park this year?

due to covid-19 (asymtomatic), there are primary schools that have dis-continued parent volunteer service

Actually I do not understand why Primary schools still need PV. In fact, those popular schools already have very strong pool of PSG. They should have enough of the existing parents helping up in the school.

A lot of the popular schools have already scrapped their PV scheme. However, some of them could still be getting 2B applicants through clans, religious bodies etc.
