Choosing and Evaluating Primary Schools

Thanks for the analysis, yes most likely will need to shift just that my girl is k2 next year will be disruptive for her to change pre school. Guess we have no other choice too. Well we will have to manage the logistics too for number 1 and the rest of the kids if they r in different pri school. The worst case scenerio is unable to get to Ats in 2a2 and 2c and let my first girl go mcs. Is mcs a good school?

Hi everyone, my boy is due for registration in the year 2023. We are currently in the midst of selling our place and want our next house to be within 1km of his future school.
Will you guys recommend moving to Bishan to try for <1km CHS or to Serangoon for <1km MSHS? Both will be under 2C phase.
Also which school will be the most suitable to choose as 2CS backup plan? Any feedback on St Gabriel's?
Appreciate your advice!! Thanks in advance

CHS will be ballot < 1km. There is no guarantee you will get it.

MSHS should be safe if you are under 1km.
Therefore, MSHS would be a better option. -

under the old Tscore system, going to expire soon, end of this year Nov 2020, last exiting graduation batch, then answer is ...
Maris Stella (MS),
because
MS affliation Cut-off-point is 226, lower than Catholic High demanding 240
naturally, will be easier for students to score (attain) MS (226), compared to another 14 more points required, CHS (240). One will reach 226 first, before able to reach 240

Under the new AL system take-off wef 2021 next year, however, need to check, what's the difference between them (If any ), which your son will fall under (AL points system)
if no difference, choose the one that give u a higher chance of securing -

It's better not to risk it. -

None of the two is safe option but with ALPS, at least there’s a chance to ballot. -
P1 next year lah, so registering this year.
Go for Alexandra. It was raved about when it first started. School used “7 habits of highly effective people” (Adapted for kids) as a teaching tool / school philosophy.
Dunno about now or whether the first PSLE batch has shown good results yet, but yeah, the school is just opposite & no bad reviews, just go for it (balloting).
Think about your 2CS school just in case. -

Nonetheless, answer is the same:

Hi,
my eldest son is born in 2016 and hence would be up for p1 registration in year2022. I will be shifting to serangoon end of 2021 and would like to have some feedback on rosyth, zhonghua pri and xinmin primary? My first choice is Rosyth however i’m unable to apply for PV as i do not reside there right now hence chances of me trying rosyth for phrase 2c is more likely but would like to know about other school around the area so i can weigh out other options in case. Thank you so much.
