2020 P1 Registration Exercise for 2021 In-take

Hi Everyone (Admirality/ Woodlands area)


My son(first child) is PR. This is my first experience in applying for P1. Pls suggest to choose between Riverside primary & Greenwood Primary. Which one is better.

We stay close to Admirality primary school. Recently I attended there E House zoom meeting. Later I came to know that they ballot SC >1 km. Now left out with only this 2 options. RIVERSIDE PRIMARY & GREENWOOD PRIMARY.

not only Admiralty required balloting for SC within 1km. Riverside is the same, balloting is for SC within 1km.

On the subject of MK schools, yes... that’s correct. For Punggol and Sengkang, I don’t think that’s a big headache as the other schools have more than enough vacancies to absorb the demand. However, it does present a YUGE headache if you are aiming for some particular school or setting them aside as backup to the popular Mee Toh / Nan Chiau.

While I agree with an earlier comment that some parents are thinking of chope first, think later, for some schools, I don’t think it’s the case for most of the 15+ schools that need ballotIng in Phase 2A. Most of them are hotly sought after schools - if anything, it signals that parents are even more kiasu / kiasi now, and will eagerly use their Phase 2A priority, never mind the distance.

TL;DR: Every school, a good school - my ass. No one is drinking the Kool-Aid anymore.

Yup. The earlier batch (last year) was already in MK when the scheme was announced. Some / most parents may have already planned or decided on another primary school, hence, the impact last year wasn’t as significant.

No wonder those new schools with MK inside, the applicant is all on the high side. 😔 and this only affect the newer school.

It's probably zero chance this year, with 20/20 left in 2B/2C. We are lucky if ballot chance for 1-2km.
