      Hi,

We are <1km from Maris Stella and Yangzheng, 1-2km from St. Andrew's Junior. Although our preference is MS, we are ok with any of these 3 for P 2C. May I know if it is safe to go for MS this year? What are our chances for MS compared to YZ and SAJ?

Thanks for kind advice(s) in advance...[/quote]
MS should be high chance even if need to ballot <1km. I would say give it a shot. SAJS usually ballot 1-2km as well. Yangzheng though sure in for <1km, it doesn't have the much sort after affiliation.

In worst case scenario, there is still a Marymount Convent. It is a 超级后补。 🙂

If they renamed it to CHIJ Marymount, it won't be overlooked any longer.

Not necessary. Quite a number of CHIJ schools are also being overlooked. It really depends on the affiliated secondary school. If you switch the affiliation to SNGS, expect to see the enrollment figures triple.

Most of the time ballot 1-2km, >2km very risky since this year only online applications. Suggest you find a backup.

            Thank you Davischew,
Thank you for the breakdown. We do have another school that we are looking at. We are pretty surprised that 2a2 in sajs is low this year as compared to history. And that got us thinking.. Most probably will have to wait till Phase 2B again for the numbers.

The TUR till 2A2 is about 45% now, yup abit low. But with no guarantee of knowing the stats through online application, it is not wise to go >2km, unless you call up the school every hour and they are willing to share the stats with you.

I wasn't confident that 2C won't go into balloting for >2km. I just needed someone to confirm that and persuade daddy that it is will not be a wise move to try for Phase 2C. It is better to go for SGPS instead which has chances of getting a place.
Nah.. won't bother calling the school.. 😂 😂

                  Nan Chiau - zero chance
                  Rivervale - ballot <1km
                  North Spring - sure in

For 2C, Nan Chiau is balloting within 1km. Dont waste your chance here.

Rivervale traditionally a school that require balloting for within 1km in 2C. This year take up slightly lower, maybe can get in for all within 1km (or with good odds if balloting is required for <1km). Northspring safe 2C

                        Hi all,

I have the “misfortune” to be living within 1km of Catholic High, Kuo Chuan Presbyterian and Guangyang, as well as being in 2C. I’m wondering what my best strategy should be? Take the plunge and try for CHS and if it fails, end up with Guangyang?
