More like not enough planes to fly.

I see some signs of the more risk-averse applicants going straight to the “mid-tier” schools. Maybe this is a good development. There is now a healthier demand for these long-overlooked schools. Poor things like suffered from middle child syndrome.

Those >2km should seriously consider changing plans if demand is too high to avoid blind bet. Those obvious 1-2km no chance/high risk should also make the move soon. Phase 2B is too costly to waste.

so perhaps just assume balloting will be for the closer distance category than in previous years for the target school

Briefly glance through the list, already many school will be balloting for 2B with just day 1 figure. And many others pointing towards balloting as well.

We are supposed to “flight to safety” for GE2020. Guess many people forgot to do that.
Well... better late than never, they are taking it out on P1 registration.

For mid-tier schools, eg Geylang Methodist Primary has 9 applicants, Montfort Junior School (3rd tier) has 5 applicants, Palm View Primary (relatively new school) has 7 applicants, St Gabriel’s has 18 applicants, St Stephen’s has 16 applicants...and several of the heartland neighborhood schools Eg Yew Tee Primary have 7 applicants when previous (?) they would have close to zero?

Either it reflects SCs shifting their choice to these mid-tier schools, or maybe...the PRs have really upped their game & served out their GRL duties in order to get into 2B this year.
