You’re probably looking at the top-tier schools that’s why numbers are scary to you.doraxmon\" post_id=\"1987409\" time=\"1595547582\" user_id=\"143300:
Why do you say so may I ask? I'm following the numbers closely and they do look scary!
seem like another 30% will apply tomorrow.
For mid-tier schools, eg Geylang Methodist Primary has 9 applicants, Montfort Junior School (3rd tier) has 5 applicants, Palm View Primary (relatively new school) has 7 applicants, St Gabriel’s has 18 applicants, St Stephen’s has 16 applicants...and several of the heartland neighborhood schools Eg Yew Tee Primary have 7 applicants when previous (?) they would have close to zero?
Either it reflects SCs shifting their choice to these mid-tier schools, or maybe...the PRs have really upped their game & served out their GRL duties in order to get into 2B this year.
hmm I can say mid-tier in my mind isn't some of these schools. Anyway it is just day 1. And some of these mid tier that you mentioned like Montfort, St Gabriel's and St Stephen's are way below their average, so 2Bs who know their stats have chosen more popular schools. -
I see some signs of the more risk-averse applicants going straight to the “mid-tier” schools. Maybe this is a good development. There is now a healthier demand for these long-overlooked schools. Poor things like suffered from middle child syndrome.

No offence but I wouldn’t call them mid-tier either.

Notwithstanding, those numbers are not surprising as they are still well within the numbers of PV / GRL. It’s possible SC or PR have chosen to PV in these schools or lack of better alternatives for GRL (distance priority still matters). For the missionary schools, I highly suspect it’s PR making their move as they know it’s meaningless to be trying for the likes of CHS or SNGS. -
I meant mid-tier in terms of popularity. Not alluding to any other aspect of the schools.

Talking about popularity, I guess it's history in the making until 2A2 - ACSJ (TUR 81%), ACSP (TUR 80%).

I don’t think so far...depending on mood, DS wavers in his decision whether or not to have zero, some or many kids, whether to not to even get married. Maybe I hit the jackpot and only have granddaughters (if any).
