This year we will probably see all these numbers go up by atleast 10% due to the surge in births in 2014

I will be due to register my child next year, Jun 2021. However my MOP for HDB will only be over in 2022. Am I able to move to my parents place, change my IC address to their address in 2021 and use the address for registration? I will keep my hdb vacant (Not renting out) until MOP is over.

Just make sure your child really stays there for 30 months and it will be fine.

No. u will be breaking HDB rule of MOP and by changing your ic address to your parents house you are avoiding MOP requirements.

dont play play... hdb will come after u.
sorry to say, u r stuck between 2 hard rocks. -
It’s ok to leave the HDB vacant. But the period that you are not staying there, will not count towards fulfilling the MOP.
Eg you move in with your parents for 30 months. Then you move back. Still need to serve the missing 30 months to HDB before they will let u sell the flat. -

i stand corrected. HDB approval needs to be sought for such exceptional cases.

The only reasons acceptable for HDB are 1. Moving overseas (example, for work) and 2. Taking care of ailing or elderly parents. The period that you are not staying in the HDB will not be counted towards fulfilling the MOP. And in case, you are thinking of gaming the system, don’t play-play. HDB conducts spot check regularly.

Hence, it’s possible to:
1. Seek exemption from HDB
2. If approved, shift to parents’ place and fulfill MOE requirements for 30 months
3. Shift back to own flat
4. Fulfill the rest of the MOP -

Hi,
I will be signing my rental lease agreement next month, which is within 1km of my prefered school. However, the lease agreement is only for 2 yrs. In such a scenario, in the event, I do get thru the school in Phase 2C, what happens if my lease expires after 2 years? WIll moving within the 1km radius of the school be ok? Cos that is what would most likely happen.
I did ask the landlord to give us the lease for 4 yrs, so that we can fulfil the 30 months from next Jul, but he said its not possible. Wht should I do at this point?
Thank you. -
You can move to another location or property. However, it must still be within 1km
