thought nowadays, all DSA Sports commitment is for 4 years only, no longer 6 years ? Means your son’s Hwa Chong DSA (Sports) commitment end at end of Year 4 . Come Year 5, your son is a free man, free to take any Sports or any other Cca category he fancy, because his DSA commitment is over and done with by then, no longer tied to that one-and-only-single- one-Sports domain which he had DSA in, at P6.

Go and review those Terms-and-condition which you signed the DSA contract for your son, when he was at end of P6

bernice04 is inquiring what subject combination to take up in Hwa Chong (JC1), if her son were to DSA into Hwa Chong, by Sports domain, at the end of Sec 4

Those students offered with DSA via sports to Year 5 (JC1), how will they offer the options to choose their subject combinations?
All JC1 students will choose their subject combi after the JAE students joined the school. The school will organize mini-lectures/classes to help students understand the various subjects better before submitting their options (around early March?). The pre-requisites for the various subjects (if any) can be found on the school’s website:

            http://www.hci.edu.sg/admissions/college/academic-programmes-college

            http://www.hci.edu.sg/uploadfile/college-subjcomb2020/subject_info_and_prerequisites_for_2020_JC1.pdf

            Hope this helps!

              Hi,

Hope to get some help here regarding the parent portal.

I reset my password for the college parent portal and the system send me an email for the new password but not the user id. Anyone knows what is the default user id?

Use to be “p” + Child’s birth certificate for the high school portal but seems not the case for the college portal.

              Thanks in advance.

Thank you for the replies. My gal has been offered to HCI JC1 next year via DSA sports but she is concern that her results may not be as good as the rest who goes in via JAE (4 pointers), which may affect her subject combi selection.

She is worried that the subject combi is given priority to better results students (via JAE).
We are considering the offer. Any tips to share on HCI?

User id is \"p\" + child's SCHOOL/STUDENT identification number, not BC.

if you say that the DSA-JC1 (Sports domain) Confirmed offer had been given, but kind of restrict (corner) your daughter to certain JC1 subject combination allowed (permitted), think is best that you speak to Hwa Chong VP (Academic) in charge, find out exactly what kind of JC1 subject combination is being offered to your daughter first, before she accept the DSA offer officially,

                    because

if the subject combination allocated to her is not what she want, not in tune (line) with her future career ambition plans, if let's say going to restrict her future choices of university courses study, not advisable to accept the DSA

Btw, already in the final last 2 years of A level exit point. The main focus should be on academic, not on Sports

Entry into university top priority is your UAS, academic admission entry score points , not your Sports. Your Sports come Secondary

Pardon me for my ignorance, but why would your subject combination choices be limited by the fact that you are a DSA student, especially when you DSA via Sports Domain? I can understand if you DSA through academic domain but for sports? :scratchhead:

                      Can someone please enlighten me?

Becos if entering via JAE to JC, which stream (Science/Arts) you can enter has different COP isn’t it?

Eg Arts stream/combi is usually easier to enter. Can’t choose Science combis.
