      Hello.

Should i take the risk to ballot RGPS outside 2km and QTPS for 2Cs - 1-2km under singapore citizen?

      Thanks.
RGPS no chance. You might want to take QTPS as this year also quite a number of applicants, might not have 2CS.

Hi All, quick question. My Daughter is a SC.

RGPS is now 171 applicants for 76 seats. We are >2km (staying in Marine Parade) - and CHIJ (Katong) (Across our house <1km), is 47 applicants for 106 seats. It is likely that CHIJ (Katong) will still have spots left in 2C(S). However, I don’t know if I need the drama or take the chance.

Question is, do you think it is useful to still try for RGPS (my deadline for submission is Thu 4.30pm) and take a chance? What are the chances of there being any spots left for >2km in RGPS? Or would you recommend just going to CHIJ directly and saving myself the drama?

Yes. Skip the drama. RGPS is likely to ballot 1-2km this year.

In any case, it’s not worth travelling half way across the island for RGPS when u have a girls school across the road from you. Sleep is important to grow the brain anyway.

Thanks just needed someone to tell me that 🙂 - is there any other school in this area that you would recommend over CHIJ (Katong)?

Zac's mum, i couldnt comprehend. Of the 171 folks who applied for RGPS and if about 120 is staying within 2km and of the 120, within 1km number is 50. Why would 51 folks (more than 2km or PRs) apply for nothing? Or its just a perception and lack of visibility?

If the school is not revealing the breakdown, then I suppose parents are hoping with great expectations that the past trend of >2km will still continue this year.

Maybe they love the name Raffles lor. National Day coming what.

still have about 1k plus more applicants on the fence, not put in application yet. I dont think the this year 2C applicants number will break the 2018 numbers as seems more people reluctant to withdraw.

The next MOE update will be one whole week later, next Wednesday. That’s when the balloting categories will be revealed.

Looks like this year’s National Day long weekend will be a sombre one just like the super dull song. No mood.
