Hi seniors. Need some clarification on the 30 mths rule for phase 2C. Thanks!

      1) If say there was balloting conducted for SCs for 1-2km n we directly got in via SCs <1km. Does this mean that we r bounded by the 30 mth rule?

      2) If there was another scenario whereby all SCs got in regardless of distance and only PRs had to ballot. Does that mean we are NOT bounded by the 30 mths ruling? Or as long as balloting is invoked (i.e demand > supply) regardless of nationality, the 30 mths rule stands?

      3) what is the reprecussions of breaching the 30 mth rule? MOE withdraw ur kid n throw to some ulu sch? If we changed the original pri sch to another pri sch nearer to the new address then its all good?

      4) if we got in via SC <1km route but we shifted to a new hm that is 1-2km instead. Do we breach the 30 mths rule?
Once you got in with distance priority, you have to obey the 30months. If you shift, you have to shift to same distance or better. Else MOE reserves the right to transfer your child to another school.

As long as you benefited over someone else due to your distance category, you have to honor the 30 months.

Not ulu school, most likely the least popular school within your same schooling district that still has vacancies even after Phase 3. There’s always at least one such school in every district.

Yes. So please 乖乖 stay 30 months like everyone else then move away.

any parent caught cheating using P1 registration rule,

          - MOE (school) will publish the parents' name onto newspapers, social media.
Parents shamed can lose job, go jail, etc

          - the kid leave the coveted school, posted by MOE to another primary school that still have Phase 3 vacancies left

But if she hadn't taken up a space, one more PR could have benefited.

Yes she took up the space, but whether <1km or >2km, she will still get in. So she can move anywhere, it doesn't affect the priority, SC will still get in before PR.
the above although make sense, please have a check with MOE if really wants to know. I only managed to find below FAQ from MOE website. So definitely moving to the same or better distance will be allowed. As for SC/PR, need to check with MOE.

                      Below is from MOE FAQs:
Parents who move to a residence that is within the same home-school distance category as the declared address used for registration, can continue to fulfil the 30 months stay condition based on the new address.

Hello seniors. I m using hp. Dun knw hw to reply n tag on that reply tat I m quoting.

In any case, i had the same understanding as davischew when I asked Q2. My interpretation is that distance was immaterial in this scenario. It was citizenship that was at play here. Hence, the 30 mths shouldn’t apply. But yeah, MOE has the final say so if I reali want the ans. I will chk with them. Phase 2C results only out 17 aug so I m sort of asking these questions in adv. Thanks to all for ur inputs!
