[Bukit Merah] Primary Schools

I was told the extrodinary number of PV applications was only for this year. Last year was not that many. Looks like the school is getting popular year after year. (Or the area has many young couples moving in)

there have been so many new flats in that area
very central location and convenient to all amenities
thought of getting a place there but the resale price is really sky high -

There could be many from the Pinnacle@Duxton. The only way for the children to get into RMPS if they stay at the Pinnacle is through P2B. -
During my time of interview PV with RMPS, the PV was about around 30. Maybe in this few years getting popular & many new flats have come up like at Pinnacle Duxton, Kim Tian Road & Jalan Membina.
They are having accepting 60 PV’s? If that the case then very unlikely those staying more than 2Km where PV would require balloting.
Let’s see how this time round the P1 Registration in RMPS. -

If that's the case, then, samanthajui may like to have backup plan. She lives more than 2 km from RMPS. -
Hi Witty
You mean you also did your PV last year in 2009? I din realised that there are so many PV. So confirmed 2010 will have ballot for P2B?
Thanks

Hi QMS
I cloaked my hrs last year but no letter… Now is holiday so nobody picks up tel in sch. Should I go to sch directly once their sch reopen? Do they mail out the letter which states we did PV there?

From my understanding, PVs don't receive their letters so early because they are given until end of June to clock the required 40 hours. You may like to approach the school only when the registration starts. Phase 1 will start during the week of 05 Jul 10. So, perhaps you would like to approach the school for the letter then?
From what witty22 mentioned, if RMPS really took in so many PVs, yes, it is very highly likely that there will be balloting in P2B this year. Since you stay > 2 km away from the school, it is better for you to come up with a contingency plan now, rather than later. -
I called the school. They said the letter should be sent in few weeks time.

The folder to clock in your hours after the PV was quiet thick too.
