Seed dispersal refers to all the methods but splitting is one of the methods of doing so. Splitting actually leads to overcrowding overtime. So she feels that they’re asking for the specific advantages of the splitting method and not just seed dispersal in general.

Think that’s what DS understood too...

Splitting is one of the methods. Read carefully is it splitting not seed dispersal. Advantage is splitting are typically found close to the parent plant and may not be dispersed to another island.

0 marks for saying it is seed dispersal by wind… overcrowding as nothing to do with it. This year science may have change the way how we ask our kids to memorize template answer. Everyone will sure say fight for competition…

The advantage of splitting is that the seeds will get scattered even if there is little or no wind.

Are you a PSLE Science marker or a PSLE Science school Teacher, pipipapipo?

                  This OEQ,
asking for Advantages of splitting and not ask about seed dispersal, carry how many marks ?

Is it possible to calculate a range of T score for PSLE based on a rough estimation of marks? More accurate to multiply total by 0.7 or 0.75? wanted to read up on which secondary sch DS might be eligible for.

I guess the question was roughly " What is the advantage of splitting over wind dispersal?"…based on my DS’s account…
