      Hi
My DS got 270+2. If we opt to put HCI as 1st choice, does that mean he would be accepted for sure or its subjected to other factors?
With such a high T-score, double confirmed plus double chopped, he will be posted to HCI if he puts it as his 1st choice.

Thanks for replying... we r still considering as we aren't sure if he can cope with the new challenges in an atas school. Psle is just a one time assessment, what matters is child's resilience n adaptability😔

My son scored 261, and we were struggling between RI (cos it’s nearer to our house) and ACS(I) IB (cos his form teacher commented my son is more suited to IB).
Can I check if your son is eligible for ESIS? Thanks.

            Hi

My son scored 261, and we were struggling between RI (cos it’s nearer to our house) and ACS(I) IB (cos his form teacher commented my son is more suited to IB).

ACS(I) is really quite far from where we stay (we stay near Potong Pasir) but i think we have more or less settled on placing that as our first choice.

I don’t really know what to put for his 2nd - 6th option though. I read some comments which mentioned that the COP can fluctuate up to 8 points (!!) so i think we shouldn’t take getting into ACS (I) for granted. Right now, my thoughts are:

            1) ACS (I) IB
            2) ACS o level (cos can try to get into IB at year 3, if COP drastically changes this year)
            3) SJI IB
            4) - 6) ????

We prefer boys’ schools..thanks in advance for any advice given!

Not everybody is suited to do IB. If your teacher recommends him to do IB, i would say \"go for it\". :congrats:

Shd get into choices 1, 2 or 3. 4-6 can put anything for fun.

:thankyou: i wonder if we should put other IP schools instead of ACS O levels too.. since he can technically skip the O levels. Maybe i am overthinking this...

Hi, my dd has the same 260 with HMT distinction, she also would like to choose RGS, BUT the COP 2020 is 261, she is concerned if she would waste her first choice. Other choice of school are NYGH, St Nicholas Girls. Any advise for her?
Can I check if your DD is eligible for ESIS? Thanks.

Choosing a suitable school is your son's choice, neither his form teacher's recommendation nor parents' preferences. With a T-Score of 261, he should be able to enroll any of the schools (as a boy). So ask your son which school he really likes. If he prefers ACSI and put it as 1st choice, the 2nd to 6th choice will not matter any more as ACSI COP won't go up to 261.

Thanks for the reply. We have tried to involve our son in the decision-making process, and we attended a few open houses in P5 before the pandemic hit. He is fine with either RI and ACS(I) IB, recognising the pros and cons of each. Upon talking to him, I think the tipping factor for us is also his concern that he'll be placed in the last class at RI, given that he is just 2 points above the COP for RI. We are thinking of trying the public transport route from our house to ACS(I) and let him decide if he can live with this for 6 years...

So my daughter got 259+2 and these are her choices

                    1. NYGH (2019 cop-261)
                    2. NJC (2019 cop-254)
                    3. RVHS (2019 cop-253)
                    4. SCGS (2019 cop-252)
                    5. NHHS (2019 cop-246)
                    6. BPGHS (2019 cop-244)

I told her the difference between nanyang and NJC was quite big and she should choose a school in between so any recommendations?

You mean put CHIJ St Nics, MGS IB and DHS before slotting NJC in as 5th choice. You might want to think deeper about all-girls versus co-ed (no right or wrong, just personal preference).

It's really a \"good\" problem to have, and i think any of these schools should provide a great education.

                    Additional dimension to consider:
SNG IP leads to EJC ('Shorter' Track record Important?). MGS IB leads to ACSI ('Longer' Track record Important?).

With a PSLE score of 251, is it safe to put Cedar Girls IP as first choice and Cedar O Level as second choice? Thank you in advance 😄
