Well I guess project based can also be stressful if you happen to get not so good groupmates. While Project Work in JC1-A level is also group work, I guess bulk of A level is just yourself. Not very sure whether it is individual or group for the 2 IB years. I only know 4 girls in MGS IP, while 1 has transferred out, the other 3 are very happy in mgs.
Last time when I went to mgs open house, the students were telling me about having to buy a Chromebook, I dont know if they still use that for school now. But the students were quick to point out that a Chromebook is a lot cheaper than a Macbook. And when I asked another group of students about what they like most about the IP curriculum, they said the symposium with ACSI boys.
then they said no lah no lah!

Something that is easy for others may not be easy for her. Ask her to choose based on her interest, is she someone who likes to do projects? Then she can go MGS, but that should not be the only consideration. She must like the environment, the CCA, do ask more about the subject combinations offered at MGS too. Hope this helps!

A levels has short sharp bursts of stress, but IB seems to have more constant stress (can't say whether lower intensity or not) because of continual assessment. My daughter's friends who did IB seemed to be constantly having deadlines looming, and a lot of stuff would count towards the final grade. Of course, there is personality - my daughter is generally the not-too-stressed kind, and only really got slightly more stressed twice a year (exam time).

Just curious, why not NYGH if SNGS an option? NYGH and MGS will be on par on distance, and leave you to compare A vs IB merits seriously.[/quote]NYGH was also on our list, however after recce the journey and route, we rather consider RGS, St Nicks, MGS.

Ok, parents with children who can practically go to any school, can I be honest? Try not to care about distance as much as you can. Because as long as your child likes the school, they will not mind travelling for even 1hr (trust me)

My daughter graduated from ACSI last year and I must say she enjoyed her 4 years in MGS and 2 years in ACSI very much!

Since no one has shared further, we can assume that 261 is the COP for ESIS which is the same as last year.
Another gauge for predicting the trend of COP this year would also be through knowing the highest T score in as many schools as possible like in the past when some forummers compiled the list here.
With limited sharing from the schools and parents, it would be difficult to gauge if the bell curve is similar to last year or otherwise and such information will be most needed by those whose T score are borderline to meet the COP of their dream school. -
