Hi all, any experienced parents can share what type/model of device is your child using for BYOD? Is it more suitable to have a small tablet or a standard laptop? How often are they required to bring it to school?

Thanks for the quick reply. As the school states just the minimum requirement so hoping to find out based on past experiences, is it more suitable to have a small tablet or a standard laptop and usually how often are they required to bring it to school? Many thanks in advance for the advice.

I know this is a very late reply, but my son (Sec 3 this year) says go with a laptop rather than a tablet. We made him save up to buy his own, and he says in terms of processing it is just enough. All his classmates are now using laptops, including those that started with tablets. Hope that help!

Hi, I have also received an email from SJI for Rugby to submit videos. But no call yet. Did you also submit video prior to call interview? Can share when the call interview would be?
Hi. I am Parent of a P6 student, my Boy plays rugby and got an interview call as part of DSA application for SJI. Can anyone here shed some light on what the interview is like ? Also, If anyone specifically plays Rugby at SJI,can they give some pointers?
Anything at all, will help. -
When they ask for videos, do they really watch it? How to know if they did?

Hi dear parents,
Anyone can share more about the Innomakers programme? What is the commitment for those who DSA-ed through Innovation? What’s the culture of the school?
My DS has received CO from SJI (IB)and another school (IP - A level).
Thanks 😊 -
Hi,
Would like to ask something, maybe someone can help. My son just got his PSLE results back and he has surpassed the COP 238 for entry as he is from an catholic affiliated school.
Just wondering if he can definitely, get in, if he puts the school as first choice? Or is there a chance that he won’t can’t get in, even if his score is 245? Just want to be clear before applying
Thanks in advance -

238 is the minimum COP for affiliated schools.

There is still the issue of max. 80% places set aside for affiliated students. If there are more than 80% affiliated students applying, the COP will be changed accordingly. Therefore, there is still a chance he won't get it BUT the likelihood that happening is low as 238 isn't a low COP to begin with. -
I’m hoping someone can help clear the confusion. I understand from SJI website that it is a IP program which ultimately leads to the IB in Year 5 and 6.
What does that actually mean, does it mean that from years 1-4, the kids study the MOE IP which focuses on the typical o level subjects and the IB subjects like Philosophy and project or essay work kicks in only in Year 5 and 6?
Does this mean that the SJI IB is different from the ACSI IB? -
Dear Parents,
To understand how the 2020 PSLE cohort performed and therefore have a better perspective of how the COPs of different secondary schools are likely to move (ie. increase or decrease), can parents of this year's cohort kindly help to post the highest T-score (please EXCLUDE the HCL bonus points) in their child's respective primary school by clicking on the below link?
https://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/t-scores/
Currently, the table only reflects the t-score information of < 20 schools which makes it difficult for any meaningful analysis. Hence, would like to appeal for more parents to step forward and share the highest t-score data in their child's primary school by clicking on the above link.
Many thanks in advance!
:thankyou:
