Yes, some students do go to a separate class during Chinese lessons, although I'm not exactly sure what the differentiating criterion is. Prob their PSLE results for CL (and maybe HCL).

I thk its their T-score cos my child did not take HMT in pri and only got A for chinese for PSLE but she is in the beta chinese class. But of cos she did struggle initially

wat u mean by beta chinese class?[/quote]they r split into \"rainbow class\" which is students weaker in chinese and \"better\" class for students stronger in chinese right at the start of the yr
not sure how they split but according to her ...the whole class will be together in S2...those in rainbow class got promoted ...

        Hi,
Anyone know the link for WhatsApp group for 2021 S1?

Welcome to RV! There aren't official chat groups as far as I know. Unless you know someone has already started a WA group unofficially.

I'd love to know if there's one for the 2020 Sec 1 cohort myself. πŸ˜‚

My DS is struggling with Maths and Science in Y2. The pace in RV seems to be too fast for her. For Maths, she's generally unable to complete the test within the allocated time. Any recommendations? Y2 parents, how are your kids doing?
Hi, our child is struggling too, next year y2. Did you manage to find tuition for her? Can u recommend please? Thank u

Is anyone taking Grab or other private transportation from Woodlands/Yishan/Sembawang to RVH which my Sec2 gal can tag along every morning?

On tuition. You may want to check out Meow tuition that is at the HDB block opposite the school. They have RV classes, sec 1 to JC. On chinese tuition, if your kid is okay with group tuition, check out Busy Bees.

The kids can find past year papers in library, print and try time test at home before exam, good for practicing time management which is important in exam.

                      Dear parents of RV,

Many thanks for this informative thread. My DD would like to try DSA dance into RV. Are there any parents here who successfully DSA their DD via dance? Can you share how the audition is done? Do we have to prepare a piece or are the students required to dance a given routine on the spot? We are worried as we do not know how to choreograph a dance routine. Much appreciated your insights!

I do not recommend meow tuition as their tutors or Teachers, whom they have claimed to be experienced etc, aren’t MOE trained. Neither are they well versed in the IP syllabus.

Their founder believes in the use of cash rewards to encourage learning - what kind of values system are we inculcating in our children if we were to permit this?

My niece attended math under the founder, Teacher Meow. When we found out about the use of money to bait students to work on questions, we switched over to other centres. The centre also focuses on an outdated approach of rote learning without any ICT tools. Well, if you consider ICT tool as using a laptop...
