Can i check if there’s already an existing P1 2021 WatsApp or Telegram groupchat setup ?
Would like to join in, please.
My boy would be in 1I5 if there’s already a groupchat.
TIA and happy festive holiday ahead! -
Looking for good Science Tuition Center. We badly needed a recommended tuition as my daughter is now in P6. She needs a boost on her preparation for PSLE. Preferably at a walking distance from Pei Hwa PS. Thank for those who can help! Cheers for 2021!

Hello all, i am eligible for phase 2A1 and considering if we have to move closer for a guaranteed space in school. May I ask if last year was the only year so far that had balloting for >2km at Phase 2A1?

Yes last year was the only extraordinary year. Though need ballot, only about 68 applicants vs 66 vacancies. Very little risk of ballot out. Probably don’t need to move.

Are the kids “streamed” at the end of P4 and P5 classes are grouped according to grades?

Hi, not a PeiHwa parent, just being kaypoh… my dc did not stream until P4 (P1-3 were the same 30 students). As a Gep centre, P4 form classes (8) are a random mix of Gep (roughly 2 classes if they were to congregate) & Mainstream children. So, when it comes to the EL/ HCL/ MA/ SC periods, everyone packs up & goes to his allocated (by merit - P3 SA2) classroom. I find it mind boggling; but my kid says she finds it alright. Status quo till P6

This is what MOE calls SBB (subject-based banding). The kids go to different pull-out classes for each subject, but they are thrown together into a random form class in order to mix them up for socialization.

Our kids will need to get used to the strange timetables and different classrooms, becos they will continue to encounter it in Secondary school. MOE moving to full SBB (for all 8-10 examinable subjects) in every secondary school, by year 2024.
