      optimus,

      Keep your AL.
Staying at home will make you more worried...better to take just 1 day to register and work for the next 2 days...at least you have colleagues to keep you company or else work to keep mind preoccupied.
So kan cheong, if I apply for the sch on the first day of P2C, how do I know if I gauge if I will be in or not? (FYI: For the school that I want, based on last yr, ballot is required for 1-2km) Then, how do I know if I need to withdraw and to apply for another school? Do I call the school on the third day to check? If so, is it too late?

BTW, for P2C, using grandparent add, if I apply for a school >2Km, is it consider under 1-2Km or I cannot apply at all?

No real life experience yet. I would say by 2.30pm, can call to check liao...or better still, station there to ask them directly.

If using grandparent address, if the address is less than 1km, you will be classed 1-2km. It is silent, but I think if address is 1-2km, it will also be under 1-2km. If more than 2km, it will remain as such - else it's very contradictory

Yap, that is what I thought but many advise that there is no need for me to apply so many days of leave. Or should I apply on the 3rd day then, would that be very risky???

That's what I thought as well, I will just try.

Calling may not be the best option as

            - Admin Office is not near the registration centre thus may not have the latest figures

            - Admin staff may be too busy to go check the latest figures

            - Phone may be ringing off the hook with parents seeking the same information

            - latest figures do not include parents in queue waiting to register

            etc etc etc

But what is the point of applying for so many days? First day, you will join the queue with all the enthusiastic parents. 2nd day twiddle thumb cos final set of numbers not in yet. For 3rd day, there is still morning and afternoon registration periods. Can take the whole day if you like.

This is one main concern I have about the waiting strategy. So fun to be a kiasu parent, at every stage, sure got something to worry about. šŸ˜›

Phase 2C, assuming you or your spouse did not study in the school previously.

Aiyoh... so malu! I feel like I am a kan cheong spider and everyone else is so cool. Actually, after coming into this site, I feel so bad that I have not done enough for my son as compare to other parents. That's why I hope at least he get into a good school.

Don't be malu. I only started looking when DS1 was in K1...and that is considered fairly late. Know of pp who start planning when child is 1 y/o....that one I applaud. :!:

Come end of day, I really believe that what turns out well is for the best. Good school, bad school - parents are most important in a child's life. Nothing to regret - life is too precious to be always looking back and saying I could have done better.

By coming to ksp and learning about all these, i think you are already a very good parent. I know of folks who are clueless and am amazed at how satisfied they are with their self-gained knowledge (which is not correct).
