      Wow this is fast! nice!

Planning for my 2016 little Lamb girl...

We stay more than 2km away from IJTP which is really our hopeful choice at 2B. No inkling of the stats for >2km for SC at 2B. Wouldnt mind a risk in ballot as well for >2km. We managed to get DS into SJIJ at 2B >2km ballot. More exciting than XXXXXXX...literally bingo game. But when DD goes P1 DS will be in Sec 1 so e main focus is her and affiliation.

We are in Woodlands and IJ QOP isnt that far but its affiliated IJ ST is bit off later on. Hence TP is our choice. RGS and SCGS would be clutching at straws as it is PV application no sound or reply (Their criteria is damn high level, just try).

Besides shifting closer, would going in to IJ QOP at 2B >2km and then wait listing for IJTP be a feasible option? We might prob stand a chance in MC as well but no affiliation.

      Thank you
In recent years, CHIJ TP is balloting for SC between 1 to 2km. You will probably will not get an opportunity. Hence, you may want to take up zac’s mum suggestion of moving.

Waitlist is the same, no matter which school you ended up with. Unlikely you will have an advantage because you are in another IJ school. If you pick MCS at Phase 2B or 2C, it’s sure in.

        Hi Parents,

We are SC <1km to the following schools:
        1) Alexandra Primary School
        2) River Valley Primary School
        3) Zhangde Primary School

Would like to know the odds of getting into RVPS and ALPS at P2C. Thanks!

ALPS and RVPS usually ballot for SC < 1km.
Zhangde usually ballots for PR, ie if you don’t choose the school for Phase 2C, there are unlikely seats leftover for Phase 2CS.

        Thanks for your advice.

            Hi Everyone,

I also a KSP. Looking only at registering in 2022 but i do think that 2021 data will be realistic. So i am monitoring that closely. Can i know if we can also join those registering in 2021? Anyway know where i can find such information?

Looked at some past data albeit till 2017… IJ TP had ballots for 2B for >2km in 3/11 years since 2006. Thats a gd ratio and hopefully rate maintains 2018 to 2021 If i still wanna remain housed where i am.

Past 2 years trend had changed to 1-2km and <1km. See below.

Unless there’s a huge drop off in the number of Phase 1 and 2A applicants, the trend for balloting either < 1km or 1-2km is likely to maintain.

The older trend was from a period of time when Toa Payoh wasn’t being rejuvenated. However, there are several BTO and condos built within 1km of CHIJ TP in the last 10 years. Some of the school going children could be coming of age, leading to the trend we are seeing now.

Given that the piece of land around Caldecott station will be redeveloped with new BTO, I think loving forward, demand for the school will get higher.

Agreed. Caldecott MRT used to be a sleepy, little-used station on the Circle line. But I see works currently underway to expand the entire station into the huge interchange it will be (with the Thomson-East Coast line), with multiple exits and taxi stand/pick up points.

It looks like they are gearing up for the station to take the future commuter load of a semi-mega town.

Even before Bidadari was completed, I was completely taken aback by the number of condos surrounding the school when revisiting this area after many years.
