Thanks! I watched the video and they gave a very good talk on how to deal with science questions. not focusing on answer itself, but more emphasize on how to read the question and how to think from there. very helpful, thinking to ask them more about tuition if needed later on.

I have sent u a PM as there’s a good video recording posted on You Tube recently about how to coach your child in PSLE Science by Blue Tree Education. 55 min of your time spent to watch it will not be wasted IMO.[/quote]

Really so sad to hear about children taking their own lives over grades… The stress that they must be feeling and not being able to express or share with anyone around them…

Mental support for PSLE child is real…parents must play a supportive role in this cruical year…we must talk and listen to them. For 11 years old gg to 12 years old, they may not really know how to plan their time wisely…e.g. playing online n hp games, watching TV.

At the start of the year, sit down and draw up a revision plan. Break the revision into smaller parts. For instance, chinese has around 40 chapters (P4 to P6), if u squeeze all after July (3mths) , u hve abt 13 chapters in a mth. You stretch over 8 months period, 1 mth only 5 chapters to manage. The earlier you start, the better it is. At this moment, no point doing past year papers. If the revision is not done well, you end up demoralizing the child with so many errors and they will start to have doubts.

Focus on P5 topics and start to close the gap on weak areas. For languages, will need to practice vocabulary n grammar almost daily. Doing 10 MCQ or 3 synthesis qns a day is better that doing the whole set of paper. Go through the mistakes and file those errors. A week before any CA or mid year, take it out to revise again & consolidate the learnings. There is no success without hard wk… When the going gets tough, the tough gets going.

                      hi Chen Lao Shi,

Is there any resources to help the child who needs more practice in 短文填空 and 词语应用, besides past year paper? Would you recommend the child to do 2020 and 2019 Chinese and HCL Paper from various school for the booklet A section? I am not sure if the current P6 syllabus is the same for older past year papers. Thanks!
