I'm sure NYJC F Maths performance has been stellar 🙂 However, if the total number of candidates is say, 20, things can change quickly year on year. Also, F Maths is one of those subjects where schools typically set some gatekeeping via entrance tests or A maths grade requirements ....so the F maths performance can be subjective across schools also, depending on how they draw the line.
As a proxy of good teaching and overall strong performance of a JC, as you had said, I would be curious how NYJC fares in general, or across other 'larger' subjects.
      Agreed with you! :hi5:

Actually, even though NYJC is No. 1 in F Maths, the same can't be said of its H2 Maths.

Has 6 - 2 historically been safe on the Sciences side here? Or still depends on the year and need to target 3 if really want to be certain. I guess we don’t know for sure if all 6 - 2s made it in this year (just based on the info above).

          Near MRT topic again.

Since yrs back started comment about Nyjc gradual low cop due to MRT access.
Now yr 2021, if MRT access is only de pull factor and Nyjc hasnt proven to Ny graduates to be worthy a JC, it will not continue to attract more JAEs kids.

This reminds me of those long winded several hundreds of Taiwanese drama shown every Saturday and Sunday weekend on TV channel 8, where they continued to play & repeat the same broken record all over again, keep harping on the same old issue, same story line.

Why you said Ny H2 Maths is as such?
In case you not aware, Ny Maths Dept is strong.

A few good reasons, why NYJC is highly popular

              1) students are given the flexibility, to choose the JC1 subject combination they wish to take up.

              2) everyone start from the same common starting point to prepare for National A-level exam, since all are JAE students, no IP student around. So, no situation arise whereby \"IP students tend to be given more leadership posts in JC1, because the IP students have known one another for the past 4 years\"

              3) NYJC Principal is good and the subject Teachers are caring. Overall, NYJC is a caring school

              4) the name, \"Nanyang\" bear nostalgic connection roots to Chinese immersion school history culture . Students from SAP Secondary schools don't mind choosing NYJC
Point 1) other JCs can allow students the flexibility, to choose the JC1 subject combination they wish to take up.
Ques is do these JCs want? They choose not to. Why?

Point 2) \"IP students tend to be given more leadership posts in JC1\"
Oh its true rite in IP JCs esp that JC.

                I would think that

For all the \" Singapore citizenship \" applicants, who have applied for Hwa Chong Junior College, using their L1R5 score -

All the (6 - 2) = net 4 applicants, will get admitted in first,
                be fore any of the

                (7 - 3) = same net 4.

                Similarly,
All the (7 - 3) applicants, will be admitted in first, before any of the (8 - 4) applicants' turn.

                Why 7 - 3, so weird ?
The odd number \"3\" arise, because sometimes, students scored only 1 Cca point, instead of the hopeful 2 Cca points

What’s the percentage (roughly) of HCI students in JC2 taking 3 H2 subjects, instead of 4 H2, in recent A-level batches ?

No idea but to take 4H2, your sec 4 MSG of L2R5 must be at least 2.5 or better (ie average of A2/B3). That’s for nygh and I believe hci high sch has the same criteria. To promote to hci Year 5, MSG must be 3 or better.
