With the new PSLE system changes from Tscore to AL (Y 2021),

is there any impact to students taking P5 Higher Chinese ?


At end of P4 streaming,
If students scored below 85, eg. scored within (75 to 84) marks range overall in P4 Chinese at end of the year,

can student still be allowed to take Higher Chinese, in P5 ?

We had our Zoom session with HMT teacher today and from the slides she provided, it says : 5HCL to 6HCL, the following criteria to be met :

Overall Results : CL greater or equal to 75, and HCL greater or equal to 50.

So I am not sure about P4 result requirement to be qualified for HCL in P5. The best is to consult your MT teacher.

In the past,
based on past experience of some of my friends' daughters from other primary schools who are offered successful Transfer into RGPS,
at the end of their level (P2, P3 or P4) journey,

these students possessed remarkably


1) outstanding
academic results


2)
good, decent Cca portfolio


3)
good character record


4)
plus some other great achievements. Thus, not easy to obtain successful Transfer, into RGPS (Mainstream). It will be easier to enter, during P1 Registration time.

They still opened for application for 2016 birth year (application end dec 2020). I think it would still continue.
