          hi Chen Lao Shi,

Is there any resources to help the child who needs more practice in 短文填空 and 词语应用, besides past year paper? Would you recommend the child to do 2020 and 2019 Chinese and HCL Paper from various school for the booklet A section? I am not sure if the current P6 syllabus is the same for older past year papers. Thanks!
          Hi Reenie,

You may want to check out these 2 books for extra practice on 词语应用 and 短文填空 (the skills set and technique involved is similar to questions 5 and 6 under 词语应用, i.e. 词语选择, with the main difference being Q5 & 6 are in the form of sentences, whereas the questions in 短文填空 comes with passage/paragraph contextual clues).

The current P6 syllabus came into effect last year, thus for practice on Paper 2 Booklet A Sections 1 and 2, it will be more advisable to use 2020's past year papers. That said, Q9-12 (i.e. 虚词选择 & 完成句子) from earlier years' papers can still be used as practice as they test on 虚词 (function words) and reading & analytical skills.

For parents who are planning for your child's preparation schedule -->

The norm for PSLE Exam dates are:
Oral: Thur, Fri after National Day or Term 3 Wk 8
LC: Fri of Term 4 Wk 1
Written Examination: Begins on Thur of Term 4 Wk 3
PSLE Marking: Mon to Thur of Term 4 Wk 6

Safe to say the dates on the tentative calendar should be the finalized dates. 218 days to PSLE Oral examination 😉
PSLE 2021 examination schedule has been confirmed, no changes to the tentative dates:

Yes, this is the correct 2021 PSLE thread. You have come to the correct thread.

                  quiet because ...

P6 mid-year exam coming very soon.
After this Saturday, 1 May, (Labour day, public holiday), exam start in the following next week.

Since Labour day fall on a Saturday, therefore,
next Monday (3 May) is a school holiday. No school.
Next Monday is not a Public holiday. But, it is a school holiday.
So, stay at home & guide your son / daughter in the mid year exam

Many P6 \"pioneer\" batch students are mugging hard, because
not familar with the new AL PSLE marking scheme.

                  That's why ... quiet.
Some P6 parents already taken office leave, supervising their children at home ( SA1)

Hi phtthp, in your opinion, is the CA1 (Feb/March) important? I just told my boss I want to take 6 months’ sabbatical from April to Oct 2022 to help DS with next year PSLE, not sure sufficient or not…

                      P6 (CA1, SA1 + SA2) exams are all important

                      Because

In the event, if any pupil unfortunately were to fall sick during the actual PSLE Oral / written papers during (September to October) period,

                      Eg. during this pandemic,

unable to turn up and sit for any PSLE paper produce an MC, then
SEAB will refer back to the pupil’s past P6 school exam results, to determine his (her) PSLE AL score, for that particular paper (subject) which the pupil was absent at.

Some parents have taken leave after their kid’s P5 SA2 year end exam is over, help their child prepare for Psle. Both (June & December) school holidays are precious valuable time, to catch up

Oh, I was under the impression that if child is on MC for any of the PSLE papers, MOE will just use the prelim results?
