2023 P1 Registration Exercise for 2024 In-take

Hi Parents, I intend to enrol my kid to Teck Ghee Primary school, and we stay within 1km. I am not sure whether I still need to apply to be a parent volunteer in the school. Please advice. Thanks.

Another new year and getting more nervous now. My other question is if we were to use address XXX (within 1 km) to apply to school, in the event we were accepted but decided to move to address YYY (also within 1 km), is it allowed/legal? Appreciate your advise. Thanks!

Yes it is legal, as long as you move within same or better distance.

Teck Ghee in some years need to ballot <1km, some years all distance in, so not so consistent. If have PV, might as well give it a try.

Any changes will most likely be implemented next year. Therefore, will likely be impacted.

1) Nan Chiau Primary -> SCs living between 1km and 2km of the school
2) chijourladyofthenativity -> SCs living outside 2km of the school

Building on the reply above, CHIJ OLN chances > Nan Chiau Primary chance, but the issue is that we don't know what the ballot figures were from the SCs > 2 km for CHIJ OLN. Best case is all 118 applicants > 2 km = 110/118 = 93% chance. Worst case is 109 were < 2 km = 1/9 = 11% chance. Maybe someone else can give you a better estimate of what the odds are probably like (the extremes aren't likely in practice)?

Maybe consider what other schools are within 1 km of your house and see what those ballot odds are (unless just prefer a girls' school and if need to ballot might as well ballot for this one). From the distances quoted, it seems like there are a couple of different locations you could be at.

Hi all thank you for the valuable opinions given - I am at fernvale I think less than 1km around me all needs to be ballot. Kinda of like girls school environment and intend to let them take higher Chinese as well.
