I think they can register, but may not be able to make an appointment until they are in one of the groups being called for vaccinations. So if you are under 60, you are probably put on a waitlist, but may get the letter sooner. However, according to a colleague, as long as you fall within the current group being vaccinated, you can book a slot even before receiving a letter. (She is over 60, so presumably either she or a friend has done so.)

my snr relatives rec letter to book appointmt
But these aunties want to wait longer a bit …
how should they do, my aunties rec letter to go CC book a date -
If there is no deadline indicated in the letter, then my guess is it probably means they can make the appointment anytime subject to availability. Afterall, everybody is eligible, the letter is notification of prioritisation in the queue.

I don't think there is any penalty as such if they ignore the letters and don't sign up immediately. However, once the vaccination programme moves on to other groups, I think they will have to fall to the back of the queue. My understanding (not confirmed) is that if they wait until the younger age groups start being vaccinated, those younger people will be given priority. I expect that after the main vaccination programme has gone through the various groups, then anyone of any age can ask for the vaccination.

Your aunties may want to call up and ask about what happens if they wait. -
