          Hello mummies,

I’m looking to enrol my child in I can read Pasir Ris/Tampines branch. But My daughter insists that I’ve to follow her into the classroom, otherwise she’s not going in. I’m thinking is there any other mummy facing similar problem? Are there any mummies out there who are also enrolling their child there so that my girl can make friends with first? I’m thinking she will be more willing to go into the classroom if she has a friend to go with her

we had this problem before my girl turning 3. We insist to try but in the end we gave up and it seems like she is not ready and independent enough for a course without parents accompanying. In the end, we pause her for a year. After that, we went back to the same class/course when she is ready and no more problem. She just walk in by herself without a scene in front of the room. Im not sure how old is your child. You may assess if she is ready. Or else you may try choosing the class that allow parents accompanying.

Hi any recommendations for K2 English classes? I m more looking at Grammar and simple comprehension etc rather than phonics and learning how to read.

My child is currently enrolled in K1 Learning Point English. Ever since the pandemic, physical classes has started and stopped… and recently pivoted to zoom online. Unfortunately, it is not v ideal, their lesson does not engage the child at all. (For comparison, my child is also having Berries zoom, and the Berries teacher could engage the kids really well)
I am concerned because of the stoppage of lessons due to pandemic, they told me that the current K1 phonics/reading course will only end in March next year(when the child is in K2)

I am disappointed, to say the least about Learning Point online lessons, as their fees are not cheap at all. I used to send my older children to Learning Point and it laid a good Foundation for their grammar in K2. At this current situation, I’m not so confident anymore.

Are there any recommendations for K2 English classes that cover grammar and comprehension or even writing classes?

Hi! My kid is going to K1 soon. His english is pretty bad, listen can understand but not a fond speaker. 1st language is mandarin. I live in Tampines, there is I Can Read, Write Connection and L Central at the interchange area and Zoo Phonics near my house.

                May I know what’s a good option?

Hi there! I know two English tuition teachers in Tampines St 44. They are located in the market, I think just above the Toto Pools, and my kids were taught by them. Both teachers taught comprehensively and they are very patient with the kids. They teach Phonics and Lower Primary English. The fees are reasonable too.

I feel like I am promoting my kids' former tuition teachers but they are really good. Don't go to those commercially advertised tuition. I know these tutors personally and they have a personalized touch to teaching. They are located in Tampines St 44. If you are interested, do PM me I will send their contacts to u.

                      Hi all.

Any one heard of Megaphonics at Jurong and Batok?

My wife read good reviews somewhere and I signed my 42MO daughter to their class hoping to pick up some phonics as her pronounciation is not accurate.

They collected 1 month fees and 1 month deposit from me
I then realise that the class is a mixture of age group, with my daughter being the youngest and the oldest at about 6.
My daughter told me after class that she spend most of her time just waiting in the class room not doing anything.

The teacher to student ratio is 1-to-10.

I am abit uncomfortable with the the fact that its a mixture of age group and I feel like my daughter is just wasting the bulk of her time sitting there not learning anything.

This is our first enrichment class for her.
We are totally inexperienced and I am wondering if anyone could advice the next course of action?
I was thinking of letting her finish up the 2 months just to condition her with classroom setting then look for a either a better centre or a 1-to-1 phonics teacher.

                      TIA!

Hi I’m thinking of either I can read or My English school. Which is better?
