I understand your horrible experience. we treat helpers with respect, HOPING they will work well. but they take things for granted. -
My helper has gone thru two 6mth medical examination. I dont know why this round (contract expiring in Sep 2021) 6mth medical examination consists of 4 items instead of the usual 2 items. The extra items are HIV and chest X ray.
Is this a new procedure? -

I called MOM and was told bec the helper has been in spore for 2 years. MOM counts the duration of helper in spore and not the durarion of helper with the employer.starlight1968sg\" post_id=\"2016931\" time=\"1615117542\" user_id=\"14025:Same for ours

Just received helper’s medical notice. Only need to do pregnancy & VDRL tests just same as last year’s. She’s been with us 2nd contract & renewal coming up.

I was speaking with the EA about work permit renewal (Indonesian Fdw)
EA does not charge us for the service, & there are only 2 costs:
(1) $35 to MOM
https://www.mom.gov.sg/passes-and-permits/work-permit-for-foreign-domestic-worker/renew-a-work-permit
(2) insurance (depends on the amount to be insured)
EA recommends the renewal ~1 month before the expiry of current contract. & even though EA suggests that a new contract is not necessary, I'd still draft one myself (EA does Not draft on our behalf), so that salary, rest days, job scope, living conditions can be mutually agreed to in order to minimise future miscommunications -

We shld always hv a contract to cover the duration of service to avoid miscomm. I do however know some EA charges for renewals.
