I know this is possible overseas. People will wait at the vaccination centres to try their luck if there are any vaccines to be discarded and can be offered to those waiting at the centres.

A volunteer shared how the vaccination Centres will prepare the vaccines according to the number registered for the day. However, there are still ppl not turning up & these vaccines cannot be wasted. Some ppl took these opportunity to ‘jump Q’ standing in wait just before end of day closing.
Personally thought it will be good if each centre can set up a waitlist of people who can turn up anytime if there are extra vaccines to be discarded at the end of the day. People who are interested can register themselves on this waitlist as well. These vaccines are scarce resources. -

Well, as long as they aren't displacing people who booked a slot, and they are willing to spend the time waiting, I think it's fine - better than letting the vaccines go to waste.

Hubby also hv not rec’d response when he registered last night, at 1am and this morning. This is very unlike when I registered mine. It was almost immediate. Maybe system crash. Looks like not likely hv much chance for ppl to miss their vaccination for those trying to Q for earlier jab. When MIL & I went to the centre, it’s really busy with lots of ppl - elderly, front line staff, essential services young locals, etc. One elderly old man apparently sat there for last 3 hours with daughter failing to persuade him to go home.

Ask him to register again. My husband and I also registered last night, and got no response. This morning, on a friend's suggestion, we registered again this morning, and got a nearly immediate SMS response, saying we would be informed when slots are available. I think there was something wrong last night, or maybe the system was overloaded.
