She's so comfortable in her Sec Sch and likes it so much she doesn't look forward to having to move to a new school. My DD was not from the affiliated the primary school and entered the Sec Sch IP programme; her CCA also doesn't have many O Level programme girls. Hence most of her friends are in the IP programme. In her case, she was considering the O Level programme strongly because she didn't know which JC she would like to go to. However, after weighing it against having to sit for the O levels, she just decided she would rather forgo the O level exam instead hahahahah! She chose the Sec Sch not because of the IP-JC partner - at that time she and we knew nothing about EJC. Since then, we've had a couple of church friends who graduated from EJC - 1 O level and 1 IP - both enjoyed EJC.

Don't need to say her - my son in an IP programme, also not looking forward to Year 5. Very happy with high school life.
      Ikr,scgs n sng hv awesome culture/environment.
No feedback on Ejc here in ksp by Ejc kids , only from unofficial ksp🤭
If yr child from IP, in Ejc wont hv any issue.

Having many posts quoting un-named sauce (spicy or non-spicy) by first time / recently signed up members don't lend credibility and legitimacy. I think it was the same last year / the year before. At least the bots promoting tuition centres or what-not are trying to appear legitimate by increasing their posts count via meaningless content in the travel section.

I think in the midst of trying to put down EJC, https://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/forum/viewtopic.php?f=40&t=85535&start=2840#p2013320 on his / her daughter ACTUAL (and frankly, quite typical and mundane) experience got lost (because not spicy enough):

            U gd in contact tracing.
From yr Link, we just got to find out the 1 possible reason for Ejc well known IP JAE Divide-
            30+% (JAE), 70%(IP)

Yes, students should try to mingle with 1 another.
But not all JAEs can. So in Ejc, thats the woes.
Other IP JCs may have this issue too but
Ejc IP JAE divide seems prominent.

the kid sounds like he’s just sulking coz he wasn’t given his 1st choice JC, looking for excuses for his unhappiness.

anyway, don’t the ip kids spend the 1st 4 years in their own schools? EJC is just as new to them as to the JAE kids, no?

How do we even verify whether this is a real or fake student?

2nd choice JC, upset. Cannot get subject combination, upset, cannot get into 1st choice CCA, upset. Cannot get a leadership position, upset, don’t feel like going to school.
Don’t dare to tell others he did not get into his 1st choice JC while he thinks all his friends got into their 1st choice school.

To me, life is never easy so you can either adapt or keep moaning and groaning. The latter is easy as it’s so easy to blame everything else for your problems.

If it's very important to get into first choice JC, just be realistic in your selection. Put a school with lower COP than your score and you will be able to get into your first choice school.

Also, allocation is by merit, so cannot blame others if you can't get into first choice school, right?

I think the issue here is that IP students have a headstart during the first few weeks of the year before JAE students report to school.

IP students have their own orientation first and those people who complained apparently felt that those first few weeks of headstart and orientation would have cast everything in stone already.

To a 17 yr old student, sense of belonging in JC level outweighs everything else.
Every experiences in Ejc are negative, its miserable.
