Hi there,
I would like to register my son for St Stephen’s Primary. I am baptised, and so is my son. However, we were baptised overseas and our baptism certificates are in a foreign language. Any idea what document would be acceptable for registration under phase 2B? Any parents from St Stephen’s? Would love to know more about the school.
Thanks! -

You need to get endorsement letter from your church , not sure if you can get it from overseas and be eligible. However, St. Stephen’s phase 2C is sure in, so you can go for 2C instead.

Hi jadetang,
We are in the same situation as you, but we're not applying to St. Stephen's. From what I understand, criteria for each school may differ, and so I called up all the Catholic schools that we are interested in to ask them directly. A couple of them said they don't require any endorsement letter while at least one does. As for all documents that are not in English, might be safer if you get certified true copies of their translations. My suggestion is to call up St. Stephen's. Hope this helps.jadetang\" post_id=\"2019445\" time=\"1617597435\" user_id=\"192255:

clarify whether
1)
school can accept your son's \" Certified copy, Translated \" version (in English) of your baptism certificate in original foreign language,
if u still intend to apply under Phase 2B, and
2) need to be certified, by whom ?
How does St Stephen primary school recognize whether the certifier is genuine or fake ? Clarify with them.
Here is St Stephen primary school email address -

(English, is the official language used in Singapore, for any original certificate in foreign language) -

From my past experiences, translated documents for institutions/govt agencies etc must be certified at public notary offices. That said, I agree with Phtthp that it is best to call and email the school a copy of your baptism cert. If they were alright with the original foreign copy, you wouldn't have to bother with extra step of translating/certifying it. -

Has anyone gotten their endorsements from church already for the upcoming P1 registration?

Hi, I am a newbie to this forum! Appreciate all the advice I can get.
We are planning to register my girl in 2022 for St Nicholas primary for P1 intake 2023 and we are within 1KM. I thought I was already kiasu when I when I called the school to check today, but they said I have missed the PV cut-off date which was last year!! O.M.G.
Now I am in a panic because i know how competitive it is to ballot at Phase 2C.
1) I was wondering if there are specific churches/ clans St Nick we can join to get into Phase 2B?
2) Does it actually matter how close we are within the 1km? eg. if we are 0.3km and someone else is 0.5km, then we get priority ahead in distance? Or do all 1KM folks get lumped into 1 category with no distance differentiation.
Thank you! -

SNGS doesn't have a clan. Given that you asked, I'm assuming you are not a Catholic. Typically, it will take more than a year to be initiated and obtain a baptism certificate. Therefore, the only option left is Phase 2C.

< 1km means < 1km. No difference in balloting between someone living within 1m from the school or 999m from the school. -
