It’s disappointing that the people at the ministry can give you wrong information. Sigh. A little bird told me that there’s going to be a new education minister.[/quote]

Maybe if he tell all the Science teachers chill, dun need to be so strict on keywords, since cotton = wool, plant = animal, kids can all score full marks. Win.

I came across a comment on another forum, kind of funny - “Our kids may learn cotton comes from sheep and money grows on trees.”

So the promo criteria for SN from sec 1 to sec 4 is about the same? Guess a tiny difference is that in SCGS one cannot continue HCL once it goes below C6.

Anyway, back to BSP. My DD2 is also taking BSP but at another sec sch. Both of my children’s schools is by application and not by invitation. I supposed not everyone good in Chinese is keen in it while it doesn’t mean that those not so good in Chinese won’t have an interest in China.

Noted on the difference between the 2 schools on the consequence of scoring below C6 for HCL. Here, one does not even need to pass it to go on to EJC. What about NY? Do they need to drop to CL is if they dont get a min grade?

I agree that there is truth your last statement. BSP here is by invitation, which you can accept or decline. I suppose if they do it by application, they may be swamped with too many? The cohort size in SNGS is bigger than that in SCGS? And one generally expect more students in a SAP school to be interested than a non SAP school? And while it is even bigger in NY, maybe because there is BSP and CLEP, not the same, but similar in the sense that both are about Chinese (sort of), so they expect the interested-in-Chinese pool to spread out between the 2 programs? Anyway theses are all my guesses, I dont know any school authority to know why they decide to do what they do.

Point to repeat also, that BSP + Triple Sc here poses no conflict. BSP + Triple Sc + Science Talent Development also poses no conflict. + Art also ok. Like I said before, the only thing you need to give up is your time. You dont need to make (hard) choices. And E Lit is not a compulsory subject to study for in upper sec, though I think it is good to study E Lit.

According to DD2, she thinks there’s no CL class in NY.

Last year, most of the girls in her class wanted to apply for BSP so her teacher tried to divert her and another girl to join CLEP. After much consideration, I felt that DD2 would enjoy BSP (Bicultural) more than CLEP (Chinese Lit) so I encouraged her to go for BSP.

Maybe he should have gone for the finance post! Lesson: scholars should also have scripts and follow them.

Asking for a friend…what is the rough proportion of non-affiliated girls in St Nicks IP track? How about OP track?

Wondering if a non-affiliate from another convent school can fit in well…very shy type.
