Holy molly, I can't make out if you are trying to promote or badmouth Xinmin, so you must be a real student giving feedback for your school! Well done. Your school must have left an impression on you... :hugs:

I can't help but agree though. Xinmin's teachers are honestly one-of-a-kind and possibly the school's best asset. I cannot understate how much they have made an impact on me both academically and as a person. I think if I got teachers that were a bit less concerned about their students and a bit more willing to disregard misbehaving ones I would have ended up in a far worse situation. To say that some of them have the patience of a saint would not be doing them justice.

Though I can't say the same about the management of the school, at least from the perspective of a student. At times it appeared that they seemed to value an implement-first and consider-later approach to decision-making. I had tried at times to look for the train of thought behind some decisions taken only to find out that it was still boarding at the station. I believe entire generations of graduates have been and will be haunted by the debacle that were the acrylic fruitchips.

But from what I hear about the new principal I definitely have high hopes for the future of Xinmin.

Am very disappointed with Xinmin.

This year, my girl says never even see the P walking around in school, always hiding in office.
She said most pupils dont even know who is the P.
Now my girl said many teachers left or leaving Xinmin this year (2021).
Almost 15 teachers have gone or leaving. And she said a number resign or transfer out.
Ask to speak to the P to confirm if this is true but office always say P is busy lah or not in.
Been given this answer so far for almost 3 weeks.
Am trying to see if nearby any other schools have vacancy as i dont want my girl to continue with Xinmin if really so many teachers leaving.
if anyone has child in same school, may be check to see if really 15 teachers leaving the school.
I wonder why MOE allow this to happen

Hi there.

Any parents with kids in Xinmin Sec?
I hear from my neighbour who has a son in Xinmin that the school always Teachers leaving the school since he was in Sec 1 in 2020 and heard last year (2021) 17 Teachers include Head of Department either resigning or transfer away.
This year heard another 2-3 leaving and just heard today from neighbour another HOD in charge of CL (at least she is CL teacher) resigning to join another school.
And worse still I hear one of the sch principals also may be leaving end of the year - don’t know if this is true.

I am wondering if this is true but when I called the office no one seems to want to give me a confirmed reply as they say I am not a parent and hence I have no right to receive this info.
I stay close to the school and considering whether I should send my P6 girl there next year. But if so many teachers are really leaving, and if office staff not so friendly to take Enquiry I also not sure. Anyone can confirm if indeed many Teachers have resigned or leave the sch. Thought this school used to be very famous in the 90s up to 2016/7 but nowadays don’t seem to hear good reviews anymore.
Maybe parents who have children there can help to see if true?
If true maybe I will consider sending girl to NCHS or SJC better? Heard these schools more caring and better results

Hi,

Confirmed school has lost many teachers over the past 3 years.
What I know is school finding at least 19 posts just this year - this will be considered a red flag if it happens in private companies and heads will roll.
So maybe really have 17 teachers resigned in 2021, and some more add to this year.
Wow, nowwadays sch like pte companies can recruit teachers already, always thought must hire by MOE only.
Got a friend who is a teacher to do some checking and confirm - she said she saw it in some MOE website.
Even the children are all hearing from their teachers they suspect Principal will not stay in this sch for very long - quitting is it?
Or maybe MOE found out and put another one to take over before sch also close or merge.
Last year heard tuckshop got complains, and office people have to psot out. A few post out already. Maybe guess they resign
This year tuckshop still big mess - half of the shops not open.
Everything in sch always something not enough
