Cant get into ACS(I)? There’s always ACSI.phtthp\" post_id=\"2023232\" time=\"1620480843\" user_id=\"35251:
My son hates taking written exams. He excels in speaking & presentations where he can tell jokes and make everyone laugh along with him. Project work, also good as long as he doesn’t waste too much time networking instead of doing the actual work.Yes, some of them (Geppers)
NOT keen in IB, prefer the \"A-level \" path instead !
=========================
Hi Zac mom,
would you prefer your son to take IB (ACSI) or take \"A-level\" track curriculum ? Which track u feel suits him better ?
O and A levels are not the best fit for him.
I think IB track would suit him best. My friend’s son in SJI IB track said 80% of the assessment even from Y1 is on research & projects, versus OP still has the traditional written exams. I don’t know how accurate lah.
But ultimately, it is not what I think. The fact remains that the IB COP is far higher than what my son can score for the PSLE. He probably qualifies only for OP. That’s life.[/quote] -
ACSI can be costly… one at Holland, the other at Dover… close by but different fees.
-
Ya i can’t afford international school fees.
-
One alternative some parernts pursue to ‘lower the total costs’ is to switch to international schools at Year 3 or 5, so that you pay only 4 or 2 years of international school fees.
-
Maybe it’s time for me to finally agree to DS setting up his side hustle of YouTuber/live stream gamer/Dogecoin investor...let him pay for his own school fees :rotflmao:

What is the purpose of doing so, other than what is mentioned? sounds disruptive...... the inconvenience and needing to catch up in a new environment again don't seem to warrant such a move leh...... unless there is a really strong pull factor to do so.....

Switching at Year 5 wont be disruptive. It is like going on to pre U after sec 4.

Oh I think there are many, many reasons why people choose the international school route.
One common reason is that child is unable to get into IB programme after PSLE, and most international schools offer the IB programme. -

Which is why people can join ACSI and SJI after O levels and all the JCs take in JAE pupils too.
