I went to SS yesterday, not because I \"rushed\" there - it was my regular shopping day. I was early enough that there was no queue yet, but by the time I left, there was a queue of 20+ outside! Everything looked very normal while I was there, but I don't know what might have happened later. I think most people are not panicking this time, but some will be stocking up food because they need to cook more in the coming weeks.
Any mums here rushed to ntuc to stock up?
Am going to ntuc for my weekly grocery shopping tmr; only 2 persons allowed to be out. -
Wanted to do my grocery yday but held back coz don’t wish to be in long Q. Today, not keen to be in crowd too. Will see if later hv time after dinner with MIL.

actually what is the stand now, for tuition centre to operate ? Not clear
Can u still have 2 hours duration per week English tuition conducted in small group, for (3 students + 1 Teacher) physical on-site, face to face, or cannot anymore?
10 to 12 students per class like Wang lao shi that type understood cannot operate face to face, because 10 to 12 is a big group. So, they need to go zoom online. But how about those small group, including Teacher maximum 4 people, that is, less than 5 : can still operate face to face or cannot anymore?
Who can we approach to verify this ?
Because certain tuotion like (Maths & Science) : you still can go zoom online no issue.
But for other tuition subjects like
- English composition or
- Chinese zuowen,
You need to do it physically onsite, then is effective bec u are under time constraint.
Not every single subject, can go online zoom, effectively ! -

I understand we need foreign workers to build houses, roads etc.
Wanna let them come in yet failed to control tightly, inevitable that the virus would spread through Changi Airport into the community, definitely Singaporeans are entitled to feel upset and disappointed.
As the first point of entry for imported cases, defense is very important. Govt should consider building up “Changi Airport Bubble”; all those staff who work in high risk zones should not be allowed to go home on a daily basis in case their wives/kids get infected and bring the virus to schools and community. Staff must be rostered to stay in dorms and swabbed before leaving the “airport bubble”.
In fact, NCID’s stellar example could be a learning model. May be pertinent to get NCID folks as consultants to advise CAG / CAAS on the processes, procedures and infrastructure enhancements to ensure that the “airport bubble” is robust.
Had the efforts put in working out the SG-HK Air Travel Bubble have been redirected to build up “Changi Airport Bubble” to contain virus at point of entry, maybe we can still enjoy 0 community case today. -
if we hv stopped them for a period, would this loss be more than the current loss due to quarantine, Heightened Phase 2, no dining-in, go out at max 2 etc?

\"According to the Gisaid Institute, Europe has sequenced almost 2,000 B1617 infections, US 486, Australia 85, Japan 29 and China 17\"?
Wait, but they are so big and populous! :faint: :slapshead:
And wait, you didn't report Singapore's no.?
And Europe has almost 2000 cases because UK alone has more than 1500! The rest like Germany, France, Denmark etc have fewer than Singapore.

They should update us on the no. of cases infected with this ultra infectious double mutant. Last I read was 8 people in the local community. Imported group should have more. :scratchhead: -

This report has Singapore as #2 but did not include UK -
Why didn't our MFA repatriate Singaporeans and PRs FOR FREE, since they want to protect our people from the worsening situation in South Asia?
Is it because they'd rather sell them indiv airline seats and SHN hotel rooms, than to provide them w a free homebound flight and free quarantine room?!
If the authorities had rounded them up at Delhi or Mumbai and put them on some mercy flight home, they could have sent them all to ONE SINGLE isolation facility and isolate them for up to 21 days, instead of letting them run amok in the community and stay at diff random hotels of their choice.
That Connect@Changi EXPO must be under-occupied now. Nothing's been reported on more businessmen booking the meeting rooms and staying in those rooms, despite the rah rah initially. Highly recommend that high-risk visitors be put up in those luxurious rooms.
Anyway, the SAS pupil had passed the virus to 2 school bus mates. I wonder what variant the LP tutor got. So powerful. Went to LP on 8 May, went to Chinese tuition centres on 9 May, kids straight away got Covid symptoms on 11 May or 12 May.
CCS says they are thinking of giving vaccines to the <16 yr olds. Would you let your children below 16 take the vaccine? Didn't OYK say it's harder for children to get it last year (something along that line)? :slapshead:
1 inmate has been infected by the SATS catering chef who's based in the prison. That inmate might be an apprentice deployed at the kitchen to cook for the others, else how could an outsourced chef come into contact with an inmate? Hope the inmates had been vaccinated. What a nightmarish summer.
