That was my thought. They were ready so just let them take it and move on. I assume they did not cancel because EL/CL are already done. Had all subjects been lined up for this week maybe just cancel everything and re-allocate the weight elsewhere. Regardless, it is the same for everyone and no easy decisions in times like this, so just support the direction the school selected and deal with it best you can.

My girl’s school had finished the P4s / P6s last week so they are clear. The P5s didn’t have much class time on deck for next week (one reason why I thought they may try to finish by Tues). Next Tues is PCTC, Wed is a holiday, and Thurs - Saturday they were supposed to have a camp but that is now a casualty too.

P4 SA1s I agree should go ahead. Friend’s child in Radin Mas has final Science paper today. Just get it over and done with.

Maybe the P5s since not full paper (just single component WA) - school might just postpone. For Math & Science, having the postponed assessment topics closer to SA2 could be good revision prep too, looking on the bright side.

Past 2 years has not been good in term of school based learning for all the kids. So many activities, supplementary lessons, tests, WA and camps are not being held. No learning journeys too.

I feel sorry for the kids. How memorable will their primary school life be?
And so few exams to practice before final exams at the end of the year... 😓
I wonder how the landscape of learning is going to change in future.
Looks like online and home based learning are likely to become more permanent fixtures in the future.

I really pity the current P6 batch (2021 PSLE). Last year they missed out on the P5 content, this year SA1 haven’t finished taking yet (dunno how about those schools that closed early due to Covid cases - their P6s how?) Some more guinea pig batch for AL system…

Unfortunately, this COVID will likely widen the gap between the \"haves\" and \"haves-not\" in relation to studies / schools. The \"haves\" will always find ways to make up for any lost time as they have the means while the others will probably suffer more than they have to due to lack of access to teachers / external help.

Definitely not ideal but I think most kids are probably more optimistic than we are. They may have older sibling or relative to compare to and what was going on in prior years. But whether there are some activities removed or restricted, I think most kids are quite happy to go to school each day and see their friends.

I feel like the schools did a good job bringing a lot of stuff back the 1H of this year (excluding this week and next). Let's hope T3 through the end of the year will be more like the start of this year and less like last year post-CB. However, I'm not really sure what to expect. Last year there was virtually nothing until late in the year.

OT: Yup, we finished a series of mid year exams ending with Maths today (Mon), & even received results for EL (papers 2 & 4) & HMT (paper 2). Exams are necessary as a reality check for the students to realise that their Weighted Assessment grades are artificially inflated!!
