Wow I need these. Are they affordable? Sure Sounds useful for my condo... backup generators and portable fluorescent lights, and those cinema auto turn on lights? Please share where to get them? I just placed orders on Shopee for light torches... alamak totally first world problems.

This is how mine looks like but I’m sure there are newer models as this is using the older fluorescent tubes. The newer LED emergency lighting looks great - smaller, brighter and utilizes less energy.[/quote]
Thank you! I just ordered a pair of those new ones.

Didn't go into detail, but yes, we were perpetually prepared - torches and spare batteries, rechargable lights (so the kids could do their homework!), bottled water, matches (for the gas cooker)... But anyway, it was only a few hours at a time. I don't think we had any longer than 12 hrs, often about 2-3 hrs. Sitting in the dark - we went the old-fashioned way of telling stories, playing chanting/memory games (\"I went to market and bought...\" etc), singing songs, etc. In later years, the power outages became less frequent, and my younger daughter said she missed those evenings sitting in the dark - I think she missed having so much of our attention!

We didn't get a generator as it was expensive and noisy, and not very suitable if you don't live on the ground floor. We just checked that the rechargable lights were recharged periodically.
Thank you for sharing! I guess I’m “glad” we had our first power outage .. (albeit nerve racking and lasted 6 over hours) now we have a story to tell our grandchildren lol.

MOH has been showing us this graph and another ''ICU vs O2 supplementation'' graph.

              https://postimg.cc/bszmwjhr

The nos of both Linked and Unlinked don't seem to have dropped. How do we know where we're heading twds now?

Over in the UK, their MOH will publish the R values of England, Wales, Scotland and N Ireland.
              Latest R range for England
              https://www.gov.uk/guidance/the-r-value-and-growth-rate#history
Latest growth rate range for England
              0% to +3% per day

An R value between 1.0 and 1.1 means that, on average, every 10 people infected will infect between 10 and 11 other people.
A growth rate of between 0% and 3% means that the number of new infections could be broadly flat or growing by up to 3% every day.

I just saw that https://heho.com.tw/archives/176370 to let the public know more about their current trajectory and projected need for a full lockdown.

From time to time, Mdm HC and some media will post stuffs about https://thekopi.co/2020/05/24/r0-singapore-explained/. But other places are now talking about https://epiforecasts.io/covid/.

Last April, the National Centre for Infectious Diseases reportedly said it had https://www.straitstimes.com/singapore/health/how-circuit-breaker-measures-help-to-prevent-spread-of-virus-as-scientists-race-for for Singapore.

Errr, why not? How about this year?

https://epiforecasts.io/covid/posts/national/singapore/, which is a day after Phase 2 HA.

Latest estimates (as of 29 May 2021)
              New confirmed cases by infection date : \t30 (13 – 53)
Expected change in daily cases :\tLikely decreasing
              Effective reproduction no. : \t0.97 (0.7 – 1.2)
              Rate of growth : \t-0.008 (-0.087 – 0.043)
              Doubling/halving time (days) :\t-87 (16 – -8)

              https://postimg.cc/BLmB8jsv
Graph (C.) shows the Time-varying estimate of the effective reproduction number (lightest ribbon = 90% credible interval; darker ribbon = the 50% credible interval, darkest ribbon = 20% credible interval).

LW was probably right. We are still on a knife's edge. 😓

I see you've ordered a bunch of stuff. Just remember that you need to check and recharge them at intervals, otherwise they may not be charged up when you need them. I only have a couple of torches and spare batteries in Singapore as the power outages don't happen often enough here - I haven't experienced one since returning in 2013! And since Singapore doesn't have island-wide power cuts (hopefully!), I reckon that if it gets bad, we will just relocate to someone else's place for a while.

I wonder what the cut-off is for students at IHLs? My daughter has completed her final year at NTU, but hasn't actually graduated yet. I'm assuming she won't be included with the \"students\"?

I wld place her under graduating inclusive

Well, we'll see if she gets the invitation SMS. If not, she will just have to wait for the \"39 and below\" category to be vaccinated.

This webinar is not for the general public. The schools have sent out the email to the students/parents who are eligible and are the intended audience. Putting this info on a public forum not right as anyone not connected can also join.

@zeal mummmy, I understand you mean well , but this info can be misused by people knowingly or unknowingly.
                    Thanks!

i do hope the govt continues to give reusable gd quality masks regularly 🙂
I bought from Temasek extra coloured DET30 masks last year, in addition to the free pair.
You can now buy online. The sellers are by no means exhaustive.
                      https://www.lazada.sg/products/2pcspack-det30-reusable-mask-i1136796660-s7507744347.html?

I feel that the free Temasek or PA masks should be reserved for lower-income families. The rest of the population who are not hugely affected by CBs should go to any NTUC Unity, Guardian, Watson or medical halls to buy the HSA-approved disposable masks. There are many in the market as compared to one year ago.

We're probably one of the few nanny states in the world that kept giving free masks to citizens. Sometimes I wonder if Ah Gong's being too paternalistic to our citizens. All those free face shields to pre- and primary-school kids were totally wasted.

Japan only gave a pair of reusable masks at the beginning last year. HK distributed once I think. Taiwan gave out fixed quota of disposables but are chargeable. South Korea gave 1 box each pax once last year.

                      EU standard is EN 14683
In the US, it is ASTM-F2100 LEVEL 3.

I rather Temasek continue to give us free mask than using the money to carry out some risky investment.

After all, what kind of investment can be better than investing in (or safeguarding) your own people?
